:wave:I know this has been asked a million times but....... I"m planning our 4th trip to Disney in March, and we have always stayed at a value resort. I'm wanting to upgrade to atleast a moderate. My question is which one is the right one? Any of them better than the other? Wanting to spice up the trip abit, any help would be great!!!

So many things go into which one is best. Whos going? Why are you going? What are you looking for in a resort?

I've been to all the mods and stayed in all but riverside. My Mom and I love POFQ the best, my daughter (10 years old) however loves Pop (value) the best. Now she liked Port Orleans FQ, she likes the slides that mods offer, she liked CBR but thought it was alot of walking for her legs (she was 6 when we stayed there) and they didn't have the pirate rooms at the time. She wasn't a fan of coronado springs. There was a small alligator in the pond and so she was terrified of walking back to our room b/c we had to walk by the water. The reason we liked POFQ is b/c it's a smaller resort and feels more relaxing of a vacation. Even if you don't spend alot of time in your room, it's nice to come back after a long day to a quiet room. It has a curtain that you can close the bathroom area off so you can have a little privacy dressing, or your wife doing her make up. It's all a personal decision and everyone has different favorites, but ours is POFQ.

I'd say French Quarter. The others are all big. And your 8 year old will love the pool with its giant serpent. And in case you're not bringing a car, its bus service is a little faster than the other mods.

Of the big ones, I like Coronado best.

We have stayed in ASM and Sports, and all 3 of the moderates.
The 8 y/0 would definately love the pirate room at CBR but he may also love the pool at Coronado.....We stayed at PORS and were very very far from the HUB, but French Qtr was quaint.....all of the mods are nice and greatly themed...the boat ride from POR & FQ was also very cool, especially at dusk.......you get to pass the treehouse villas, and the moment you come out into the DTD lake area and see all of the lights...it is really impressive. It is hard for me to say which one of the mods I would go with..CBR was our resort for our very first trip and will ALWAYS hold a special place for us.....we were 5 mins. from the HUB and main pool, bus stop right outside our bldg......LOVED everything about it....that was back in 2000!!!!! The food court was nicely themed too......so I guess that would be my choice for you!!!! but do research and look at the resorts photos individually and you will get an idea of what will suit your family needs. Best of Luck!:)

If you can't afford the deluxes, the Port Orleans French Quarter is just about the best of the moderates. It still isn't that great though. Reminds of the quality you would see at a Comfort Inn.

The deluxes are actually a better bang for your buck when it comes to providing location, amenities, dining and atmosphere.

The jump from Value to Moderate is mostly about theming. You go from a big box hotel with giant figures to a box hotel that looks like something other than a box hotel. They do tend to a be a little quieter as most youth groups tend to stay at values, but otherwise they are similar. Service is slightly better, I.E. bellhops are always around, but its still not at the level of the deluxes. Is it worth it? Well, my DW won't go back to a value now, she likes the quiet. I personally see the room as a place to sleep, so am not bothered by the values, but many people do prefer a slightly larger room with a few small changes. Having stayed at CBR, POR, and POFQ, I find them all to be similar, just different themes. Depending on where you end up at CBR or POR you could have a lot of walking to the main building for food, otherwise they are similar. Coronado Springs tends to be heavier on business people if a conference is in session so there may be less kids if that bothers you. The food court there is also run by a 3rd party and is set up differently than the others.
