Value resorts? Decisions, decisions.

Heading down to the happiest place on earth for a family vacation next fall/early winter. It's not your regular family vacay though. We're all adults, ha ha. It's been a few years since I've been to see and stay with the Mouse :) essentially we're doing the trip for me, ha ha, but I know the others will have fun, too! Of the value resorts, which ones would appeal most to the adult variety? Not that it matters to me :).

Pop Century OR Art of Animation (little mermaid section). Pop Century is in a better location and is closer to all the parks. It's not very far from DHS or EP. As for LM at AofA, they aren't suites there but just regular room. Prices may be a bit higher but it's a new resort and it's just across the bridge from Pop Century and again the location is very convenient.

I think Pop is the best of the values, but if the price is right the All-Stars have their charm. They all work better if you have a rental car for epcot/AK/DHS days. MK the bus still seems better. Rental car also make resort hopping for dinners and such very easy.

I used to live in NY and I'd always fly down and stay on property and when I did that I was submersed in WDW and tried to not do anything that might remind me of the 'outside' world. Never leaving WDW property until the ride back to the airport. So I considered driving a car a no-no. So when we moved further south we now always drive to WDW but I still leave the car at the resort parking lot and never see it again until the last day. That's just me.

But if you are going to use your own car to get around then I suppose picking between PC, and AS is basically just the theme you like best.

My vote still goes for Pop over All-Star.

POP is most adult IMHO. All Star Music has some nice sized suites, but are not value-priced. AOA is the newest, but to me it caters to children/families, especially the themed areas. Why not try for a moderate such as Port Orleans Riverside or Port Orleans French Quarter? Those aren't too much more expensive, and have beautiful grounds and table service restaurants instead of just "food courts".;)

In the last year the missus and I have stayed at Music, Movies, and just last week Pop. I'd say I preferred Movies, then Music, and Pop last in terms of atmosphere and decor. I also liked Music's food court over Pop's. They are all pretty much the same room and all good quality.

We are Floridians so we drive and have a car with us so the buses are never a factor, with that said Pop was the easiest to get in and out of by car.

If you haven't noticed a trend.... POP. All the All Stars are great but for strictly adults, Music would likely fit the bill. AOA Mermaids may play to the little ones a bit more than adults and you can always visit AOA from POP.
Whatever resort you decide on you'll have a great time.

Pop Century or Art of Animation - you can walk from one to the other. The food courts are both pretty awesome.

I agree with Pop Century, however if you're a group made up entirely of adults who are not interested in the themes of the Values, I would look into either of the Port Orleans resorts. On my last trip it was not much of a price difference to switch from Pop to POFQ so that is what we ended up doing. (It was also just myself and one other person, so splitting the price of the one room helped, it may be different in your situation.) I'd say it's worth pricing it though if you're worried about the theme appealing to your group at the Values.

I think the Surfs Up section of All Star Sports is probably one of the more understated looking. Though it is still a little much.

Pop has a nostalgia factor to it and it has better bus service.

I would check into the price difference between the value and mods if you are looking for a more adult themed resort.

Even tho I loved the bus better at POP I like All Star Music Resort better. The walk towards the back is kinda quiet and peaceful and a nice, quieter, smaller pool.

I'd choose Pop Century and request a room in the 60's section facing the lake and close to the Generation Gap Bridge. The 60's rooms are, in my opinion, a great location at Pop Century -- quick walk to the pool, main building, and bus stops. That location also puts you close to AoA making it easy to walk over to Landscape of Flavors. And as a bonus it would also be a quick walk back from AoA if you choose to ride their bus back to the resort from the parks. We stayed at AoA last summer but used Pop's buses if their line was significantly shorter than AoA at the parks. And since we had to walk past Petals (the pool bar at Pop) on the way back to AoA, I'd grab a quick drink to take along for the walk. :)

Pop. Request a top floor room facing the lake if you like it a little more quiet. We just got back and it was sweeeeeeeet.

One Little Spark...
I'm gonna hop on the Pop bus.

I would also say top floor, near one of the elevators (if you don't like stairs) or near one of the stairs hidden in the "icons" at the end. I would do a garden view in 50s facing 60s, or 60s facing 50s.
