Value Resort Question

Hey there. I'm new to the DVC forums so I apologize if this has been discussed. I also apologize if this is common knowlegde for DVC members......

Anyway, I am looking to put together a cheap trip for my friends and I (we are college students). My parents are DVC members and we have 50+ points left this year. I was wondering if it is possible to use the points at value resorts. There's no info that I've found regarding this. I take that lack of info as a big fat "No" to my question. :veryconfu However, my dad thinks it is possible. Are there any point charts or information available about this? Thanks for your time.

PS. If no, we may have to stay with my CM friends and I'd prefer not to burden them.

When I looked through my DVC info I didnt see any of the Value resorts listed in the disney collection only Deluxe and Moderates so it looks like you cant use DVC points for value resorts.

Sorry. You can't use DVC points at the value resorts. With 50 points, however, you can book a standard studio for about 4 nights during the week at the BWV or a studio at OKW. If you have to book a preferred view, it will be more points, but you should be able to pay cash for the difference.

If you wanted a weekend trip, you could book a value resort room for the weekend (paying cash) and then move to a studio for any nights Sunday through Thursday. Hope it works out for you.

That's what I was afraid of... Thanks guys.

It may work out though because I'm the one who is cheap on this trip - my friends all have money or their parents give them unlimited money - so I may use some points for a DVC studio somewhere and have them pay for anything else with cash.

That's how i work it.

Thanks again!

Book your room ASAP. :)

If you're *really* cheap, you could book the studio and offer to let a few people stay with you for a low rate, like $75 per night. ;)
