Valet Parking at the Grand Floridian for Dinner

Does anyone know the proper procedure for tipping if you use the valet parking at the Grand Floridian when you go there for dinner?
When leaving your car, when picking it up, or both?

I have never valet parked there but I use valet parking just about everywhere it is offered. I usually tip a dollar or so when I leave the car and three dollars when I pick it up. My husband probably tips equal when leaving and picking up, he's a generous tipper, much more so than I am! I know at the Poly, valet parking is expensive. I can't remember the exact amount but when I was ther last year with my daughter, we parked and walked!

We always tip each time the take or get the car (at any resort), about $2 or more if the ac is blasting and the car is cooled off. :lookaroun

Also remember , you only pay to valet park once a day so keep your tag hanging on the rearview mirror.

I would just tip when I picked it.

I have been weary of valet parking since the first time I saw Ferris Bueller's Day Off. I would wait and check my car for wrecks and many extra miles, then I would tip. I would guess around $2 or $3, but not too much.

The best I remember valet parking was $6.00, a $2.00 tip on arrival, and $2.00 when you leave.

Thanks for that, Mad! I just learned something I wasn't aware of - That my handicap permit will get me free valet parking at resorts that have it!

I have never heard of tipping when dropping off the car. I always tip $2-$3 when picking up.

I never valet parked before Disney and was also under this impression until I asked a valet parker about tipping and he made it clear that then the (drop off) parker gets nothing (and he has a family to support as well).
When I valet park (free for Disney Dining Experience members) I tip a 2 dollar bill when I drop it off and when I pick it up. I don't feel that 2 dollars is much, but a 2 dollar bill is at least a little special.

We usually tip $2-3 dollars when we pick up the car, more if they help with luggage or do something special for us. A lot of times, I see them use a waiting car to drive it to the valet lot, to bring back another car. I've never tipped when dropping off the car. If you have a Disney Dining Experience card, valet is free, but you should still tip.

Victoria and Albert's will also validate your parking (at least they offered it when we had ate there last October; we are DDE so it did not matter). We just tip when they bring us our car back, not a drop off. FWIW.
