My hubby and I are planning a trip in Feb 06. This will put us there on Valentine's day and a few days later my Birthday. I would love to know if there is anything special that WDW does for those occasions. Has anyone had experiences with either or both? I'd love to hear about it!!

Make sure to let them know it's going to be a birthday (include name, date, etc.) when you make your room reservations. I was down with my wife on her 50th (& her twin sister) & when we got back in the evening, there were ballons & a cards, signed by the characters on the bed. Don't know if all resort do it the same but this was at Pop Century. Never been down on Valentines day or other holiday.

Make sure you go to guest relations @ the parks or Downtown Disney on your birthday. They'll give you a pin & the CM really make a deal over B'day folks. They work hard at making special days, SPECIAL.....

Magic Kingdom used to do something special (the last thing I saw was a "special" valantines day fireworks tag after Fantasy in the Sky set to Beauty and the Beast in reds and pink-- very cool), but nothing for the last 5 years or so.

The year before last they did have an event "This is Love", but it was set several days before valantines day, and was a hard ticket event held after park close.

In the 80's they used to run concerts ("Valantine Heartbeat")-- I remember seeing Tiffany (I think) for that before they stopped them.

Having been at WDW last valentine's day, the only thing I could think to mention is that Valentine's Day itself is considered a holiday in regards to Disney dining.

This means that any PS or now I guess it's an ADR has to be guaranteed with a credit card and subject to a cancellation fee for a no show.

Also, a lot of the romantic (and family fun) restuarants seem to book up quickly.

We usually don't use the ADR while we are there. We try to eat as cheap as possilbe to save money so we can buy other stuff. But that is a good thing to note and keep in mind since we don't usually use it. Thanks!

Just wanted to echo the "make sure you make a note of it on your reservation" suggestion! For every single birthday someone has had at WDW (alas, never mine), they have always gotten a cake and/or chocolate covered strawberries! And when I went in May 2004 with some of my fellow graduates, they sent us a bottle of nummy champagne!!! :slurp: That was gone real quick... ;)

All of these events took place back in the good 'ol days when I could afford to throw caution to the wind and stay at the Poly concierge (*shakes fist at her mortgage*), so I don't know how standard it all is!
