News V.I.Passholder Days return in 2024

It’s more about a respite from the heat or rain, charging devices, checking socials, resting feet, etc. It would be appreciated without any drinks or snacks, but if it saves me $4 on a bottled water and a few bucks on a snack until I get to the next meal, cool.

(This is what’s known as a healthy and realistic perspective.)
Yes. And your thoughts of not waiting in line for it make sense.

I don't think I have anything to debate with you, here.

Using something available that provides true tangible benefits beyond the cost or effort to use, I get.

It's clearly very different from what the report and pictures show seems to be happening at the moment.

If Disney just openly apologized to AP Holders and said hey, we're sorry about the way we've been treating you for the past 4 years and as our most loyal guests/customers, we're going to work hard to make this right (and actually followed through on it), it would go such a long way to fixing a lot of the issues they've created.

In reality,

You'll have a better chance of seeing Brear Rabbit back in the Magic Kingdom than them doing that.

Are you saying that a new magnet, temporary lounge at a closed Epcot pavilion, and 1-month dining discount increase (oh, and who could forget the 6-week, 20% discount at DisneyStore.com!) doesn't make you feel valued and activated to go spend money?

Just returned this past Thursday....Parks were on the slow side....just before noon short line for the magnet....no line for the lounge 1-2 in afternoon

Was nice to see Parks manageable....heat contributed....

I don’t think it’s meant to “activate” you to spend money.

As usual, this is a matter of perspective.

If you’re holding out your hand asking, “What will you give me,” you’re likely to be disappointed often.

I was just there for a few days. You can see in my TR, when there was a line to get the magnet, I passed, with no hard feelings. When I happened to be in the area later and there was no line, I got a magnet.

I’m not much into Stitch, but it will go on the fridge with the others, and that’s kind of cool. Plus memories and all that.

Not only do they cover the cost of many magnets, but there were at least 3 extra CMs assigned to work the station all day, every day. That’s a huge extra payroll expense to give away free stuff. They’d do better to mail them out. But having the line in the park is advertising to non-APs (for better/worse.)

I have not bothered with the merch discount.

The lounge: again, in my TR, I posted this, obviously an exaggeration to be funny.

That was about the guests and nothing else. It was crowded. There was no line to get in. There was tea and water, I didn’t happen to look at the snacks. It was not easy to find a seat. The phone chargers were not all around the room. They were in some kind of portable kiosk with lockers, so you couldn’t use your phone while it was charging.

However, charging my phone in the heat at MK was much worse. (The drain on my battery was bizarre.)

So I appreciated the lounge, and if I weren’t an AP, I couldn’t have accessed it. That 20 minutes or so out of the heat, charging my phone at least out of the danger zone, and a nice big cup of water/tea (I combined them) vs. little sips of Florida dirt water from fountains everyone touched in the parks - yep, that improved my day.

I made sure to catch the eye of a CM on my way out to say thank you.

We were going to check out the lounge last Sunday and waited in the line for it. We heard that there was a 20 minute wait to get into to it. We turned around and went elsewhere.

FWIW, it took me all of 30 seconds to get my magnet last night. Why people insisted on waiting 20 minutes the first weekend they came out is beyond me.

Maybe because not all APHs are locals who can pick up a magnet whenever? I'm an APH visiting from another country, so I waited 20mins for it, no big deal, really.

Besides, I don't see any why it would be an issue for you if people want to wait for a magnet, and for how long. 🤷‍♀️

Not every AP is local and can show up whenever they want.
You can’t drop everything and put your life on hold, book an expense flight (or drive, if you live close enough), hope for hotel room availability, and visit at a moment’s notice? Undesirable. 😂

FWIW - My wife booked a trip 2 weeks ago. Pretty damn cheap flights, 4 nights at ASMusic for 3 people. Spent around $1k including food. And it worked with schedules, amazingly. Kind of insane when you think about it.

I know that. But there’s out of state AP’s in the park every single day. They’re not the ones that caused the lines to be 20 minutes long the first weekend. Those were the bloggers and wanna be influencers, who just had to get their magnets right away so they could use it for content.
