Upgrading to an Annual Pass

I'm got a solo trip booked for December with 6-day Park Hoppers. I'm planning on going back in September/October 2010 along with my daughter to do Halloween. I'm thinking it might be a smart move for me to upgrade myself to an annual pass. My question is, would it mess up my package deal (w/ free dining) on this 1st trip, and how would I book a package for the 2 of us next fall if I already have a pass? (Hope this makes sense.....)

You can upgrade to an AP while you're there and still preserve the dining package. By upgrading, you're deciding to not get a "package" next fall or get a package with a single-day base ticket for each of you in the fall. If you get a single-day base ticket each, you can upgrade your daughter to whatever ticket length and type she needs for the trip and save yours until your next trip and upgrade it then.

It means investing in a ticket you won't use for a while, but if you know you'll go back someday, it's probably worth it if the package is what you want next fall. But you might also find that a PIN code or an AP discount next fall might be a better deal and just skip the package.

I am going in August on a 40% PIN and the money I'm saving on the room easily covers everything I'd possibly eat on free dining and hundreds more, so free dining has no appeal. :D
