Upgrade to Table Service?

My hubby and I will be there during October and got the free dining plan added. We have never done the dining plan before so it is all new to us. Since we are staying at AoA, we were giving the QS meal plan. I was told for around $150 we could be upgraded to the Table Service plan.

Do yall think its worth it? The hubby is obsessed with Sci-Fi diner and has to go every trip. I just cant decide what would be the best route. Save the money or not.

Just looking for suggestions/opinions.

It's definitely worth it since you are only paying the difference between the quick service plan which is your free plan and the basic dining plan. It does save you a lot of money.

We have always upgraded when we stayed at a Value during free dining, and I definitely think it's worth it for us. We like getting to do a table service every day. If you are planning even a couple of table service meals during your trip, it would probably cost less to just upgrade.

BTW, when are you staying at AoA? We are going at the end of September/early October. Can't wait!

make your ADR first

There was another discussion thread about having a hard time to get ADRs for Table Service since there was free dining. I think you should call and make sure you can get the Table Service restaurants PRIOR to upgrading

We always either upgrade to the regular plan or switch to a Mod to get it - often the price difference in these two things is negligible.

I think it would depend on what you would spend at the Sci-Fi restaurant if you pay out of pocket. We did upgrade our free dining because we wanted to eat at OHana and Chef Mickeys so for the price of the upgrade we could also eat at 4 other sit down meals basically for free. Personally we love the dining plan and would probably pay for it if it weren't offered for free.

I think it depends if you like to sit for dinners. After going all day we like the break for an hour to sit and relax out of the heat. It also peps us up to keep going. We do a nice dinner every night so the plan is worth it.

For us it is always a savings especially since we stay at the value resorts!
