Does anyone know of any upcoming rehabs? I am most curious about April, 2002. I would think that is a busy time so rehabs would be minimal but I am not sure. I don't want the kids psyched for a certain attraction only to find out its closed.

Thanks in advance. I am also looking for info on Fort Wilderness, any helpful hints, tips, secrets would be appreciated. We are staying in a cabin.

thanks Griz, I was only planning on feeding them in the morning, but now I guess I should not feed them at all. Oh well, maybe the peacocks will appreciate leftovers...ha ha.

The country bears won't mind food, Cheryl, just don't give them liquids! ;)

Griz, there is usually NEVER any leftover liquid on our vacations! I will stick to solid food only for the "critters".

Do you know where the "better" cabins are in FW? or if the water parade goes by the beach? Someone told me it did but couldn't remember any details.

Thanks for you help

I used to stay there a LONG time ago. I'm pretty sure the water parade does go by the beach. There's a lot to do there, bikes, canoing, etc. I don't really remember where the good cabins are since I used to stay there before they got new cabins. Just try not to get a cabin by the basketball courts because they tend to be loud at night. :lookaroun And of course the golf carts are a blast!! Have a good time!

regarding rehabs: I'm planning on being at WDW during April as well and have learned that Maelstrom will be down for rehab just prior to Easter Vacation and El Rio Del Tiempo goes down for rehab on April 7th.

Also, rumors keep circulating that COP and Time Keeper might be open for the two weeks around Easter just like they did for Christmas break.

Hope this helps.:)

I wonder why El Rio Del Tiempo is most of the time being refurbished or repaired, but somehow it is closed. Maybe because it is a water ride and an old one...I really don't know.

They need to redo it...redigitalize the movies and heighten the technology...and maybe a drop hehe (dream on, kyle...dream on). Mexico has waterfalls!

As I recall, last time was in 1999....and now it is 2002. Whoa! Time does fly!

They have to drain the water and then replace it...and maybe a few refurbishments.

NO, no drops...

El Rio del Tiempo should include some new things. I've been to Mexico (the real one) recently and it is much modern than it is showed in the ride, which ironically is supposed to show how Mexico evolved through time (TIEMPO=TIME) and so an update is needes, at least in the final scene of the fireworks...

I agree...they make Mexico look like a poor country..and its sad. They really need to do some major work on that thing...

They don't look poor...the final scene mural doesn't look to poor to me! Actually, I thought it did look like my country...unless the real Mexico has changed drastically in 5 years!

Some friends of mine brought their 40-foot motor coach over to Ft Wilderness for a weekend last fall. Also brought four grandkids... ages 7-12. Their favorite activities were the campfires and renting an electric cart (often called Pargos at WDW... don't know why:lookaroun). I understand the cart was not cheap but they felt it was worth it. I'm sure there's some age guidelines for driving the carts... but even the younger kids got a kick out of tooling around in the thing.
