Hi,
It seems like I remember reading somewhere that there is a scheduled rehab for Buzz Lightyear SRS. Does anyone else remember reading that? Rumored to be when?

I heard Eisner is going in and taking out all the "batteries." Something about saving energy. Guests will now shoot at dollar signs. However many signs they shoot, they must give Eisner that much money when they exit. The rank sign will still be up. If you don't hit any you're a SaveDisney supporter. If you hit all of them, you can become an official board member.

The ride does need a bit of a rehab, it doesn't compete at all with Universal's Men In Black ALien Attack. Universal went for a great ride experience point of view, unfortunately Disney went with the 'OMG! Look what Universal are making, lets copy them but make it a high capacity omnimover so guests can ride over and over! Unfortunately there are still long queues AND seeing people all around you shooting the same things and having guns that are in a fixed position really takes away the edge!

I was kind of hoping they would just shut it down completely, and in place of it, put in an attraction that you don't tend to see at country fairs.

You know, honestly, I do like the ride.

I think it's kind of tacky as far as some of the cardboard cut outs go, but it is enjoyable for a fan of Buzz.

It's a great ride for kids too.

And it does suck some the crowds away from Space Mountain, so that's a plus.

Maybe I'm in the minority with the other people in the 60 minute queues for this ride, but I love Buzz...

Well you may be in the minority, but you're not alone... I always have a blast when I ride it, even though it's kinda silly... and it replaced dreamflight!

That's too funny...I'll enjoy the RIDE rather than the game the next time I ride if that's the case! LOL!!!

um unfortunitly this topic is up for debait. last time i was on men in black ride it totally sucked. not only did it break down 3 times while we were online, but the ride is really short, and you don't have many targets, targets are hard to hit, seats are uncomfortible unless your butt is really small. only good part was the queue are that was 3 times longer then the ride itself. now where buzz light year is more whimsical, love where you can turn the car on your own, buzz lightyear was much more imaginitive(love the batteries placed all over the place, and the giant viewmaster in the queue area), buzz has more targets, a better look, and dare i say it really really fun ride. ive seen more people and families laugh and giggle after buzz lightyear then men in black. i havent been on men in black since. frankly now we only spend 1 day at universal to do both parks, one before lunch one after. thats it, universal, if you ask me are going to all coasters, i hate coasters, in island of adventure there is only 2 to 3 rides to ride for us, and except for a few on the studios side there aren't that many rides we mis if we don't do them. disney is waaaay better.

i think the cardboard cutouts make it all the more toyish kinda like paper dolls.

The only means to compare MIB with Buzz is the fact that both shoot lasers. Didn't Buzz even open first? Anyway, Buzz was built and designed as a dark ride in the league of Pooh or Peter Pan that the entire family could ride together. MIB was built with intentions of it being a major "E-ticket" for the park, complete with a height restriction, in the league of Tower of Tower or Spiderman. I prefer MIB's guns to Buzz's, but overall, even with the "league" difference, I still actually prefer Buzz over MIB, just a little. And the line for Buzz and the reactions from people coming off seems like its doing its job fine.

Haven't heard about a rehab, but just some cosmetic upkeep is needed. The ride vehicles take a beating apparently. Not too long ago they seemed to have replaced the control consoles on most of the cars since they looked new compared to what they looked like a while ago, but I haven't been on Buzz for a while, so I don't know how they new consoles are holding up.

You see, it's this kind of attitude I dispise! You are entitled to your own opinion but don't go saying Disney is better than Universal. You can say that you prefer Disney's version of the ride but to just say Disney is better is a bit much. *Continues rambling* That goes to everyone who say stuff like that. Things like "Universal is crap. Just look at the high-tech IoA park. There's nothing there except for hi-tech rides!" I know there will always be the Disney vs Universal thing, but don't just type a post that says "Disney beats them all". I'm sorry if I sound like I'm telling you what to do but I believe that most will agree on this!

BTW if you didn't mean it in that way, just ignore my last post! I'm sorry. But I still think this would be a could time to settle things!

:)
*I added a smiley just so you see I'm not in a grumpy mood! Here's another one! DUCK!

This is a Disney board not a Universal one so the vast majority will always put WDW first. Please do not, under the guise of fair play, tell me how to think or where to spend my money.
:D

You misunderstood me. I never told anyone not to express his/her opinions. I just said, try and make it a fair arguement. Stuff like "uni is crap" wake up the wrong side of me. I think even you will agree that when making a statement, make it a fair one, and explain your point of view! :animwink:
You are a good example. You say WDW is the best but you understand that you do not need to diss the "other" company to prove it.
