Unlinked magic band transfer

Hi,

I have unlinked magic bands from a canceled trip that I would like to send to family that are going to disney world soon and staying off the resort.

Is it possible for them to link these magic bands to their MDE and link tickets, past-passes, etc. if I never linked them to my MDE?

Apologies if this has been answered before. I didn't have any luck finding the answer.

Unfortunately, no. Once a Magic Band is linked to an individual's MDE account, it can never be "unlinked" and then used by someone else. All you can do is de-activate it in your MDE account, but it's forever assigned to you.

MBs that were sent to you are linked to you. The only time an MB isn't linked to an individual is if you buy a specialty MB [like the Haunted Mansion MB] and you don't link it at purchase. You can then enter its number into anyone's MDE account and it'll then forever be linked to them.

Your family will have the option of purchasing MagicBands, either in advance from DisneyStore.com, or when they arrive, at various shops inside the parks. All of the standard colors that you can get with a resort stay are available, as well as character imprints and other special patterns that are not available as complimentary MBs when you stay on-site. The solid colors cost $13 each, and the printed ones range from $20-$30 each.
