Universal Pictures music and film clips at Disney-MGM

What I find interesting is that at Disney-MGM, they have several pieces of their cross-town competitor's work through the park.

To be specific:

1.) In a blink-and-you'll-miss-it clip at the end of The Great Movie Ride, there's a small scene from "Jurassic Park".

2.) Universal movie themes (most notably the theme for "Back To The Future") can be heard on occasion as well.

Why is this stuff there, besides the obvious reasons relating to movies?

Sincerely,

GMR showcases all movie classics. I mean isn't like it was a scene in the ride :). But yeah you are right about those tid bits. Interesting :).

another weird tie-in ...

Phantom Manor in Disneyland Paris is almost an identical replica of the Bate's Motel facade at none other than - Universal Studios California... they modeled the DLP Phantom Manor after this creepy looking building...
