F&F post potter clean build
I don't give them a pass
Bear in mind that the Orlando exec's didn't want F&F, and have even publicly admitted they regretted not saying "no". The California execs split it to justify the budget for a tram expansion. Orlando didn't even get to 'plus' it like they did Kong, as it was dumped on them. Orlando has the final say on UEU this time.

This #EpicUniverse thread turned 1, so how about a birthday tweet. Some lands lost some acres, others gained, but this is super accurate now. Look at all those beautiful expansion pads, 35 acres!! Thanks to

I know it's bad business for a park to open with nowhere to expand, but I can't help but wonder if some of these expansion pads within the existing lands will ever actually be used. I'm getting strong "cut for budget" vibes just looking at them.

I mean I understand how someone would think that if this was a Disney park, but Universal hasn't shown a track record of cutting projects.

Every expansion pad, bar a tiny one in the corner of suess been built on, the last to get built on 2016 in IOA. This is not Disney who sits on expansion pads for 40 years, Epic Universe has a phased opening built into the plan. I can assure you none of these plots were cut from some grander plan

Was the Monsters plot not meant to be a Creature from the Black Lagoon ride that was supposed to open with the park? Because that's the story I've heard.

Not with the park no. Phase 2 project. Whether that means they start building it in the first few months or wait two years who knows.

It's a fine balancing act, you want everyone to go to your new park but not at the cost of abandoning the other two, we will see them juggling new projects across all three these coming years, we may get new stuff at USF 2025/2026, then get phase 2 stuff in Epic in 2027

Do you have any idea what the final new area will look like - Including hotels, another Park and a 2nd City Walk.

So I imagine the "story" of the park is going to be some sort of like space portal wormhole (the reason for the space themed coaster) that can transport you into different worlds or realities.

I think on the site you manage one of the videos talked about the Black Lagoon boat ride being technologically advanced. Any idea what ride mechanics could be used that would make it a step up from Jaws or the Jungle Cruise?

From memory, it could be tech akin to Shanghai Pirates

the heavy use of armillary (like an atlas for planets) and i cant remember the name of the other thing but the layout suggests that theyve kinda designed the hub as the centre then all the other things orbiting those. bear in mind they wanted to call this park Fantastic Worlds, so im assuming the lands were intended as Worlds to revolve around the hub

That makes sense, about the revolving considering the Helios (Sun) name of he hotel.

So is the Black Lagoon ride expected to be outside or in a ride building?
