Universal Announces New Disability Pass System

Was this announced before making the change? Seems like a jerk move (and one that could cause legal issues) to suddenly require something that takes time to process beforehand.

As a disabled person myself, I have questions as to if the process of going through a 3rd party like this is legally compliant, let alone why Universal chose them to be the middleman...

Imho that's the least of the problems with this cluster. The requirements violate the ADA

Assuming any court in Florida would side with the petitioners...
A legal challenge would be in federal court, not state court. There are also a number of different states where it could be brought since this system is also used at Universal Studios Hollywood, Sesame Place and the Six Flags parks.

This all sounds incredibly inconvenient & convoluted for something that's supposed to make a person's visit to the parks easier & less stressful. I understand they don't want people without special needs abusing the system, but requiring those with special needs to jump through hoops like a circus lion is not the answer.

Federal judges in Florida are often just as problematic as state ones!

This system with the same third party is already in place at a bunch of Six Flags parks.

People made the same complaints when Disney started requiring return times for their disability passes.
