Unique/Stylish Character Clothing

I have no idea where to put this thread, so hopefully I chose the right category.

I have never worn "Disney attire" on a Disney trip. Last year I did not purchase any Disney attire for my 5 year old either.

I'm thinking of letting up on that rule this year per kiddo's request. I found a sweater from Hot Topic (feel too old to wear it but oh well) that I like for me, but am having a lot of trouble finding things for my now 6 year old.

I'm looking for vintage looking, unique, or muted character clothes, nothing too loud or bright.
I did find a few online stores that had some neat stuff..but the price tags are not neat.

Any advice?

I've had some luck with finding 'vintage' (ie, old) Disney clothes on eBay. With a bit of luck and a fair wind you can find some stuff in good condition from a seller who has never heard the term vintage, and so sells it to you for a few quid....

Failing that, there's often some decent stuff on Etsy (although it can be taken down rather swiftly..)

Thanks! I'll check eBay for sure.
I'm actually surprised at Etsy, thought I would be able to find more there. I purchased my son's birthday invitations and thank you cards on an etsy shop, but his birthday shirt I only ordered the iron on. One of my pet peeves with Etsy is the fabric and fit of the shirts.( I ordered one once that looked ridiculous on me, now I stick to accessories lol) My kiddo is a big fan of v necks and he's kind of picky about the grade of cotton..so bc of that I was excluded from a lot of items. Ended up just buying a white v-neck shirt and ordering the iron on from Etsy. Worked perfectly :)

I was kind of hoping to do the same this time, at least for Stitch.

Yea, I found some great stuff on Etsy, and some reeeeaaaaaally bad stuff. Like, I could've sewn better. And I have fingers of butter and fists of ham. I don't know whether it falls foul of copyright or if it's just limited numbers, but it changes all the time.

Incidentally, if you see anything on geekhoodies, DON'T get it. The fit and quality is just terrible. Cheap for a reason....

Obviously I don't want all Mickey.. Those are just an example. I can find in men's sizes but not kid's.

And the "ugly Christmas sweaters". I like them, but not enough to pay $60 each for a one time use at Disney world.lol

Thanks for the tip! I looked at a few things on that site. I really like the items on "Merchoid" (never heard of them before today), but I have no clue what the fit or fabric is like and as I said, the sweaters are $60. Not my idea of a good buy for that item.lol.
I purchased all of my Disney tees from Target. Roughly $12-14 per shirt.

Target had a Santa Chewy that I wanted!!! Didn't have son's size in store..looked online and can't even find it now.

Ahhh, my friend told me of Merchoid last week. I was quite taken with a Star Wars Christmas jumper. They're only £36 when I look though, which with the exchange rate as it is works out at about $45. Still pricey for a once-a-year thing, but.... AT-ATs..

I don't understand why any of these place do NOT sell children's sizes. So frustrating!!

In my inbox this morning - up to 40% off sale:

Also, @21stamps I think you have an AP? You can download the WDW "Shop Parks" app, log in, and you can buy Disney Parks merch with your 25% off (and free shipping if you spend a certain amount.) I've been using that a lot lately. (It might not work if you haven't activated yet, but for future reference and anyone else reading.)

for kids Target usually has t shirts and many of them are more classic looks. Some are the bright crazy designs but we see lots of nice ones. They also carry dresses and skirts and bathing suits etc for kids in Disney.

Disney store always has a variety of choices. Wait for clearances...prices are often excellent.

JcPenny carries a disney line and it varies. Sometimes they have adorable stuff and sometimes its just loud looking.

Kohls usually has such cute Disney things. With their sales and discounts etc often it can be a steal.

And, believe it or not, I have gotton some totally adorable outfits for my one daughter at Kmart. I am not a Kmart type shopper but they can have super cute minnie mouse things. People were always commenting on how adorable her outfits from there were last year. They often run sales that are 50% off or more which makes them really good prices. I have noticed that quality can vary. Some of the things I have gotton were very impressive and some were cheaply made and faded quickly.

I actually find tons of authentic Disney Parks merchandise at Goodwills. I have actually found many items with Disney Parks tags still attached! T shirts, sweatshirts, dresses etc in perfect condition for the $2 or whatever per item!
