Unexpired hoppers originally from 1995

in 1995 I bought 5 day hoppers, used only 2 days. A few years later went back and used 1 day ( I had to get new cards). This was before the fingerprint scanning. 2013 went back and turned in the old cards for the new ones but didn't get to use them. So I still have 2 days on them. Those cards were never assigned to any particular name cuz it wasn't being done then. Can I give them to my family member to use the remaining days? (When I went to downtown Disney in 2013 to switch the tickets, they never asked for an id or name, they simply gave me the new version of the tickets and they told me I still had 2 days on them). i thought about linking the cards and assigning their names to it. Will this work?

From what I have read, as long as they are not fingerprinted they should work, but now with the magicBands and new things...the best advice is to call Disney and just ask them. You may get the answer from someone more in the know, but in the end I would call to know for sure.

Does anyone know if you are allowed to keep the old cards? Ours from 1996 have characters on them and since they were from our first anniversary they have sentimental value. Even though we would walk away from 2 day park hoppers I would not trade them in if that was the case.

Yes, you keep the newly issued cards, they do not turn them into magic bands. I always have Hoppers in my wallet because you never know when you might get a random trip to Orlando. Last December, they traded in the paper ones for plastic. In fact, I think that since I didn't use the magic bands, they even gave me a plastic ticket for MVMCP.
