Unexpected trip to Orlando this weekend

I've been prepping and organizing and researching non-stop for our trip in November to WDW. First time for the family, 5th time for me. But this weekend (Memorial Day Weekend) I'm going a last minute trip to Orlando. That should be interesting. Maybe I can pick up Mickey Designer ears in advance and surprise my daughter the 1st day of our trip in November.

We have been following your threads and it seems like your Nov trip will be your first (or first time in a long time). Hit the parks solo so you can get a feel for it.

You will be able to learn how much walking there is in MK and exploring World Showcase. Even if you want to save experiences for when you are with your family, it wont hurt to walk about for the sense of scale.

Have fun!

November is the first time my kids (12 and 8) and my husband will be going to WDW. My son is in the Autism spectrum, so I've been preparing like I have NEVER prepared before. I have Plan A, B and C in case of meltdown or sensory overload.

I've been to WDW 4 times before--first time in 1975 and last time in 2000.

Great idea about the walking around and exploring. Thank you!!! I am going to do something I know my family would never be into---dinner at Jaleo! I'm pretty excited about this.

Niiice!!! Solo time gives you a lot of freedom to concentrate on your own pleasure. It will give you a great pre trip run and a feel for the excitement to come later as well. Grab a lot of maps, buttons, small trinkets, box of Mickey cookies, packaged snacks to make up a grab bag to give as a pre trip gifts. When you get back home youll really be eager for the remaining days to count down. Enjoy your brief dose of fun.
