I am going on the tour for the first time in over 10 years I am am really curious from anyone who has gone on the tour in the last 6 months or so could tell us where they went. Obviously, there are places I'd love to visit which probably aren't possible anymore (ImageWorks, UoE, etc.) but I wanted an idea of what to expect. Thanks! Also, please share your experiences with the guides, etc.

I went back in October. My guide, Robert, was very good. He was humorous and informative.
Here's a brief summary:
1. LOTS of background history standing around in Guest Relations. This went on for almost an hour. It was interesting, really, but I wanted to tour!
2. Finally move backstage in Guest Relations. Wow! There's a printer and a CM assignment kiosk!
3. Exit into Innoventions East to view Sum of All Thrills and modular house
4. Exit into breezeway into center of FW to view main fountain and learn how it works. Learned about purpose of both sides of FW and what the colors from the new paint on the Innoventions buildings mean.
5. Visited Coral Reef Restaurant
6. Walked to The Land. Learned about architecture of pavillion.
7. Proceeded downstairs and outside between The Land/Soarin' and Imagination/Canada.
8. Entered Soarin' from backstage and rode it. Learned about future of attraction.
9. Walked to Imagination and went upstairs (now closed off)
10. Walked directly to Mission:Space. Stopped first at old EPCOT Center logo imprinted on walkway.
11. Visited Hewlett Packard VIP lounge in Mission:Space.
*** The rest is all backstage from here ***
12. Walked a grass path underneath the outside portion of Test Track. Viewed a unique aspect of the track and briefly entered the TT maintenance facility.
13. Then walked over to Cast Member Operations Building (can't remember exact name).
14. Viewed mostly costuming (check out/check in, seasonal, hairdressing, etc.)
15. Ended at backstage of China. Received a pin. Tour is over and you "enter" onstage at China.

Really? They brought you up into the old ImageWorks section? That's incredible. I really need to check out this tour.

Yes, they did. It's really just an empty second floor with views through the glass.

My tour went like this and this was around 2007

  • Guest service meet up and start of tour for about 20 mins
  • Small factoids of SSE
  • Tour VIP Lounge @ Seas
  • Went between Land & Imagination buildings (Rode Soarin) Saw maintenence area for the Imagination vehichles and 3D glasses washing station. Never went upstairs to old Imageworks) I also found it funny that I pointed out the Figment written in the Cement by the Imagination Pavillion and the CM Tour guide never even knew about it...
  • Stood in Innoventions West Inventors Plaza for about 10 minutes and did trivia for some odd reason (Nailed every question right :D) Again surprising the CM Tour guide that I even knew who the host was for the Television special for the Grand Opening of Epcot was.......Danny Kaye if you didn't.. ;)
  • Went to UoE's backstage area saw Blueprints of the Pavillion saw some minor Exxon/Mobile signs and Touch the Pterodactyl that was were Ellen "Once" Stood (since she's not there anymore)
  • Went to Mission Space saw some sad Pictures of Horzions and heard the history of that
  • Walked to Test Track's Backstage Maintenence area to see them fixing the ride vehicles (Looks pretty much like a car repair bay at a dealership...Ooooooooh)
  • Walked behind World Showcase from Canada to the CM's Op's Building to see the Locker room as they explained why there was different carpet patterns on the floor to test out for potential use in the resort, Saw the Warehouse where they get their clothing for the day, Walked down a small hallway that was painted by each Department (Not sure if it has been changed but, during the time I went they had a Rememberance wall painted with All the Epcot based Characters together and it looked really awesome)
  • Went to the Illumnations Barge area to see where all the Fireworks are stored and got to see the Inferno barge & Globe up close
  • And just like the other post from above we all got back into World Showcase Via China close to the Exit of Reflections of China and the Store from a hidden doorway.
  • Recieved a pin and was also invited to go to The VIP seating Section in Italy during Illuminations all we had to do is show our pin.

The colors of the new paint scheme...what did they say about it?

Nope. There would be no reason anyway for them to keep games sitting around and rusting. It's completely empty space.

In this video it shows all the empty spaces that there today. Did they take you through the Rainbow Tunnel or anything else?

How many times and many ways do you want me to say there was nothing but empty space up there? We went upstairs, looked through the glass, listened to why it was no longer used then went back downstairs and headed toward M:S.

Tour guides aren't allowed to take you guys into the exciting area thats up there. (in the video above) I can assure you that there is a lot more than empty space.

Simply because you didn't answer the question that I was asking. You said there's only empty space, but there are still a lot of the original elements standing today, like the Rainbow Corridor. It doesn't seem like you see a lot of it anyway, so I'm not so sure if I'll even bother with this tour. Thanks for your help though.

I can only speak to what I saw. It seems the video already shows the rest of the space since the videographer got shooed off by a CM.
