Hello! This is my first post and fittingly enough, it's just mere hours away before our annual summer trip to Walt Disney World! My friend Katie and I are both teachers and have been friends since we were 4 years old. We told ourselves when we both have teaching jobs we would go to Disney every summer and here we are, going on our 3rd trip together (though we've both been many, many times before without each other.)
This is us arriving in our room at The Boardwalk last year:
I thought I would share our basic itinerary and hope to hear some sagely advice from you fine folks.
Tomorrow morning We're taking an early flight from New Jersey and will arrive at the Yacht Club around 9am. Our plan for the first day is to relax into vacation, which means plenty of time at Stormalong Bay, maybe a quick walk to Fantasia Gardens, and dinner at The Captain's Grille. We've never dined at CG before, so we are looking forward to it
Tuesday we start with 8am breakfast reservations at Crystal Palace and plan on staying at Magic Kingdom all day. We have Fastpass+ for Peter Pan's Flight, Anna & Elsa, and Seven Dwarf's Mine Train. I'm really hoping to see Peter Pan at some point! Dinner is up in air because Wednesday's dinner is taking 2 of our dining plan credits. So we were thinking of going to Downtown Disney - Katie has been dying to go to Splitsville.
We like to have some plans, but not too many so we can enjoy the spontaneity of traveling "The World." On Wednesday we want to check out a free tour we heard about at The Boardwalk (The Ballyhoo Tour). We have Fastpass+ for Hollywood Studios in the afternoon. Our dinner is at The California Grill, an absolute favorite of ours. Last year it was being refurbished, so we haven't been in three years!
Thursday is our EPCOT day! We have some Fastpass+ reservations, a definite stop at La Cava del Tequila, and dinner at San Angel Inn. We also are trying out the After Hours Wind Down event at Tutto Gusto following Illuminations.
Friday we are back at Magic Kingdom and will probably find our way over to Animal Kingdom at some point. And Saturday, our last day, we plan on getting massages at The Grand Floridian Senses, do any last minute rides in the parks, and then head back to Jersey until next year.
We're so excited! And I should probably go to bed since our car is picking us up at 3:45am!
Have a magical day!
Shaun
