That's what Jim Hill thinks. Check it out:

I gotta say, I'm REAL happy. I have it recorded from the TV, and I think it was the last time it was shown, some 10 years ago. The copy is already scratchy and, of course, it's dubbed, so I can't wait to get this on DVD!

Yay!! I looked here because you saw the same article I did and I wanted to see if anyone had posted it yet. I am really excited! Thanks for posting.

I agree with this knowledgeable person at BVHE:

"This movie isn't nearly as good as people seem to remember it being. Sure, the animated sequences are charming. But the pace of the rest of the picture is so damned pokey.

Which is why I seriously doubt that we'll get all that many letters about "Song of the South" 's racial content. The way I figure it, most kids & adults will be nodding off 30 minutes into the thing. And people who are sleeping can't write letters of complaint."

Well, maybe he should have said "This movies isn't as good as Americans seem to remember it being", because it was shown CONSTANTLY down here up untill 10 or so years ago, and I for one watch it almost every now and then since I have it taped, and I love it. It ain't Mary Poppins, and that kid can get annoying fast, but you gotta love Uncle Remus.
