Sigma have made an 8-16mm zoom for crop cameras, similar to their 12-24mm ultrawide angle lens. It has a 121 degree coverage.

Apart from the ceiling detail of the Temple of Heaven, China pavilion at Epcot where else could you use such a wide angle lens at WDW?

Sigma have a great range of lenses now, I'd like to try that 4.5mm circular fisheye.

Yeah I just saw that announcement. Interesting. Wonder how good it will be.

Everywhere. I use my Tokina 11-16 @ 11mm probably 50% of the time or more at WDW. Here are just a few of the recent shots I've posted that I took with it: http://forums.wdwmagic.com/showpost.php?p=3958137&postcount=11

I have a ton more shots if you go to my Flickr page. Ultra-wides allow you to get close to your subject to get a fresh and unique perspective.

I am really hoping this 8-16 is great, but I have my doubts. The 12-24 isn't very highly regarded. I'd love the 3mm extra, but the Tokina is such a gem that it will be tough...

I'm fairly excited about the stabilized 70-200, too.

P.S. I am so sick of Temple of Heaven ceiling shots. Talk about cliched...

I still use that old Sigma 14mm/3.5 on my d700. Flares like a .

Tho i love the wide angle look.

That's one of the big complaints about the Sigma 12-24, too. Hopefully they can get this one right, though. I'm really rooting for it!

It'll still be hard to sell that Tokina for it, though. I don't know much about the technical side of photography (I'm sort of like a raccoon...I just take pictures of shiny objects!), but I know I like that lens. Plus, I like having f/2.8. So many people say it isn't necessary for a UWA, but I use it soooo much.

I prefer the 20 (work's is broken) but the 14 is damm spiffy. It just flares. The Nikon version doesnt flare as much BUT costs lotsamoney.

If you're a Nikon full frame shooter, I think the obvious UWA choice is the 14-24 f/2.8. Even Canon pros gush over it.

All I meant is that there is way more to UWA shooting in WDW than the Temple ceiling. Nothing against the ceiling, it's just tough to get anything unique. This is my best attempt, and I still think it's just sorta 'meh':

Wow. The colors are so vivid! Any post work done on this?

Increase to vibrance (less to reds than rest of the colors). Sharpening. That's it.

Yeah, i want it. Might take a year to get it tho.

I'm hoping a D700 replacement is announced soon; I think as soon as it is, and the D700 prices start to drop, I will sell all of my current gear (except the cheap-o 50 1.8) and get the 14-24 and the D700. Even after selling all of my photo gear and after (what I anticipate would be a) substantial drop in price of the D700, I'll probably still need to put out $1,000. That lens is so awesome I think it might be worth it. Especially given my love of UWA.

The d700 is my primary camera. It is AMAZING. But i still want a D3s.

The D3s looks nice, but for that price...no thanks. I can understand why you'd want it as a pro sports photographer, but I'm just some schmuck taking pictures of his dog and cat, and WDW. Even my dog is smart enough to know that I don't need that kind of camera.
