Ultimate Guide? and Lodging?

Since only 4 people rated it on Amazon, I was wondering if anyone thought the Unofficial Guide was a good book and worth the $. THe price has been reduced quite a bit, which is good, but I still don't want to spend the $ unless people think it's worth it. Or would something like Babes in Disneyland be more useful? It's about $5 more, but since we have a 3 and 5 yr old- a book geared towards families with younger kids might be better. We only have 2 full days for the parks, and while we're used to not doing everything, we also don't want to waste time either. Any thoughts?

Also, while I would love to stay at the Disneyland Hotel - I just can't find enough pros to spending the extra $ like I do with the WDW deluxe hotels. We were looking at the HoJo just b/c the pool looked fun and if we're able to get an Entertainment rate it should be very inexpensive. Anyone have any thoughts on any of this?

Sorry- just feeling all over the place since this is only 1/4 of the trip and I'm being pulled in a lot of directions planning this. Thanks!

The Unofficial Guide for WDW is very useful, detailed, and worth the money. If that helps. I have no experience with the DLR version, but I'm sure it couldn't be bad.
