Looks like Thomas Cook will be flying into MCO instead of Sanford starting next year..We have always landed at Sanford but hoping to fly TC on our next trip..Questions...Do you collect your cases from the carousel and take them out to the bus yourself,or is this done by someone.? Also,do you collect your cases from your concierge or are they delivered to your room.?Cheers folks.;)

You take your bags to the Magical Express yourself. As the bags are already on the bus, instead of being delivered later (which, if I understand correctly, is what happens with domestic Magical Express passengers), you take them with you when you check in and then take them to your room. This does mean that you have your bags with you, rather than waiting for them to be delivered, which I've read can sometimes happen.

You are correct. Guests using domestic U.S. flights receive Magical Express luggage tags in the mail and affix them to their luggage (each guest gets a set of tags). The tags indicate which resort they are staying in and the luggage is delivered directly to their room usually a few hours later. The last time you see your luggage is when you check into the departure airport. Should the guest want to change their clothes after arriving at their resort for some reason they bring a carry on bag onto the aircraft. This bag can be left with the bell service and picked up later.

When you arrive at MCO after immigration and customs you have two options with what to do with your cases. You can either take them up the escalator or stairs and get the monorail to the main terminal, or, put them on a belt and pick them up in the main terminal at the main baggage reclaim area.

The best option is take them with you as its a lot quicker. If there is thunder/lightning then ground crew wont work so bags wont get taken to the main terminal. Also, if thomas cook have baggage pickup on the A side of ther terminal, you'll have to come back up to level 3 and down to the B side for the Magical Express desk.

Cheers @stuart ...MCO sounds a big airport compared to Sanford..I remember almost getting lost at O'Hare Chicago...I will probably grab my cases from the carousel and take them to the Magical express bus myself..;)

When you read some of the other forums, folk make MCO out to be the largest place on the planet. It really isn't.

When you come off the flight, especially the international one, you can only go one way into immigration and customs. Once you are through that there are plenty of staff to herd you up the stairs and escalators. Once you come off the monorail you'll see a massive red A on one side, and a massive green B on the other. Yeah, you really are best taking your cases with you on to the monorail.

Orlando airport is basically a rectangle, with security and monorails to two airsides at each end with shops and a foodcourt in the middle. Typically, the check-in desks are at the end where your gate is, but no idea where TCX desks will be, or who will handle their flights there so you may need to walk to the other end, but no hardship. The way its laid out, designed so you are only ever at one end, there are actually two Disney / Uni shops - one at each end.
