Hi,

I will be going to Disney in August with my grandson who is 9. We want to go down the river on the lazy river around Typhoon Lagoon. Only problem is he can't swim.

Is the river very deep, how deep.

Do they rent life preservers for people who can't swim?

Thank you for your answers.

i have just come back and if i remember the water is three feet deep, but if he stays on a ring with the hole filled in he should be fine.
i however have been doing it since i was 5 but of course i could swim then.
im not sure if they rent the life preservers but i think if you had your own they would allow it but not in the wave pool.

Yes, you can get life preservers for non-swimmers. DS used one our first trip.

Sure can get life preservers. They are now located inside of Singapores Sal's. Just stop by any register and let a cast member know you need one. They are free of charge. Please do not bring your own flotation ring, as they are provided for you. Personal flotation rings are prohibited. The water is in fact 3' deep, however there are a few portions where it reaches 3'6". However there are always lifeguards in site. And you never know when I might be lurking around the corner to check up on them! :D
