Typhoon Lagoon or Blizzard?

I'm sure this has been discussed numerous times - so I apologize. But I'm just curious, I've been to both dozens of times and want to hear others opinions!

1. Why do you like it?
2. Do you have any strong likes / dislikes with the other?
3. The other day, a friend asked me if one waterpark was better for large groups. Any opinions?

I don't know if there is a better lazy river I have ever seen than the one at Typhoon. Just utterly relaxing. Classic Disney. I am just going on a hunch, but it has to take at least 12 minutes, maybe 15 to go around that whole river.

Depends on different factors, but generally I believe about 25 minutes.

Typhoon Lagoon. They really nail the theme and the slides are old enough to be quirky and weird compared to other water parks. Whereas Blizzard is more directly comparable to newer water parks and for being advertised as more of a "thrilling" water park, everything is very tame. Not to mention nothing has been added since the park opened. I do really like Blizzard's theme but not enough to make it better than Typhoon.

I live in MN where it is basically barren tundra for half a year :\ I have never felt the urge to go to a winter themed water park :).

It's been awhile, but I actually preferred BlIzzard Beach. I think the theme is really carried out well, I think the lazy river and kids areas are better, and it has a slide that just makes ones knees quake.

Blizzard Beach is cool and could really use some newer slides and thrills. But Typhoon Lagoon's theme and atmosphere is great and conducive to a water park a little more. Just need more variety in slides and it could easily be the best waterpark around.

There are great things about both. Typhoons theming is tropical and fun. Blizzards is unique.

Typhoon has a better surf pool, but Blizzards is more fun for actually swimming/bobbing in.
Blizzard has the longer lazy river.
Blizzard has a better play area for older kids.
Typhoon has a better play area for younger kids.
Typhoon has the newest ride.
Blizzard has the longest slide.
Typhoon has the water coasters.
Blizzard has the drop thrill slides.
Blizzard has better tube slides.
Typhoon has classic style body slides.
Blizzard has the mat racer slides.

Everything depends on what you’re interested in most. I visit both because of the differences in attractions.

BB is doing a major refurb this year. Hopefully they make some much needed updates, and add a new attraction or two. It still is a really nice park and I prefer more of the slides there than TL. . But TL has that wave pool, so I think it wins out overall.

Crush N' Gusher and the huge Lazy River, so definitely Typhoon Lagoon. I've only been to each park once, but Blizzard Beach was obscenely crowded. We struggled to find even one chair to setup camp and leave our stuff. Trying to get lunch was a joke. I was also a pretty skeeved out by the lack of privacy in the changing rooms, but that's probably the case in both parks.
