Typhoon Lagoon or Blizzard Beach?

Just left WDW today (boo hoo) but went to TL on Monday and BB Tuesday. I definitely thought BB was the better one. I liked the rides there and you don't have to carry your tubes up the line with you. Plus the little park for the tots was awesome. My 2 y/o loved it. They have slides and a slide they can use a tube on. She must of went on that 30 times. I liked the pool at BB better then the wave pool at TL. I couldsee myself just lying on a tube in their all day LOL

Both of the water parks are fun; each has its own unique attractions. (Just a note about your comment regarding carrying tubes—at Blizzard Beach there actually is one slide there, Runoff Rapids, that you do have to carry the tube up quite a few steps to the top.) Runoff Rapids is a great slide though!

Having also done the two water parks on back-to-back days (which I do not recommend) I would actually go the other way and say Typhoon Lagoon is by far the better of the two. It does a better job of fitting its theme, the grounds are lovely, there are all kinds of cool pathways, bridges, and trails to explore, and there's a greater diversity of slides and water attractions (gigantic wave pool, shark snorkeling, water coasters, etc.).

The only thing I thought Blizzard Beach has going for it is that most of its slides are longer than its Typhoon Lagoon counterparts.

I'm a BB fan--there are little touches that they learned to improve from building TL first. E.g. more sprayers on the walkways, a less rough bottom on the wave pool. Things like that. Also, it tends to be less crowded. Both are fun, tho.

I love both the water parks but Typhoon Lagoon is much better in my opinion, better immersive themeing, better upkeep, CRUSH N GUSHER!! I love that thing. Shame BB doesn't have a similar water coaster slide.

Typhoon Lagoon. Not to beat the drum more, but the themeing, lazy river, the crush 'n' gusher "water coasters", snorkeling, the wave pool, and everything else....if your lucky enough to have booked an entire week for vacation,(or even not), and want a break from the parks, you can truly make a day out of TL, and still have enough time to make something out of your night, as well.

I've only been to TL, I'm put off BB because of the theming, I don't get it, the place looks like its freezing cold but it's really hot! At TL it looks hot and is hot.

I always say before our trips, we must try BB but I know I like TL so I never do.

I think BB has better rides, but TL is better to relax.

I first time I went to TL and went in the Wave pool I decided to stay near the shallow bit and sit down so the wave could swish me about! Never again! It was like being sanded down with sand paper! Some of my skin is probably still attached to the floor!

Did the same thing Sunday, and I should know better.

love TL for the snorkeling it's something you don't get to do everyday, and crush n gusher is pretty cool. I prefer the overall theming of TL, plus it always seems a bit quieter which is always a bonus!

I've never been to BB, but we love TL. Next trip down, time allowing, I'd like to check out BB, but the overall theme, setting, and the slides are amazing at TK. And that wave pool. It's an E-ticket unto itself.

The both have their merits and both are really good. I just wish at both they would expand with some new slides now.

TL has the big wave, but then BB has constant waves. BB has the bigger slides overall, but I don't quite see a clear advantage to either.

Personally TL just shades it.

Having done both, and no disrespect to those obviously not informed, probably smelly, mean to puppies and the elderly typhoon lagoon lovers*...

But it is all about blizzard beach, slush gusher forever!

*Mean purely in jest people

When people say that TL is "better themed", can one expand on that? To me, Typhoon Lagoon is "themed" to be being a tropical area post typhoon -- basically, a place like Central Florida but with a few overturned boats and stuff. BB actually has a novel theme of an icy/snowy ski resort but with water rides instead.

I can understand people saying that TL is more lush or prettier or has more shade. But I don't see it as being better "themed" because there doesn't seem to be much of a theme to me. YMMV. I actually like TL more thanks to the shark reef and the quality of the wave pool, but BB is the more interesting park in terms of ambiance to me.

I like the tropical theming, the lazy river, and the crush n' gusher of Typhoon better. However, I think Blizzard Beach has better rides and I like that they don't have huge waves in the wave pool. The huge waves at Typhoon used to be a draw for me but now that I'm older I don't like the crush of it anymore.
