Twofold question...

My wife and I will be back "home" from September 27th-October 6th and I have a few questions...

I purchased a new video camera before our trip in December of last year and I took tons of footage. My main goal though was to videotape Wishes, Fantasmic and some of the other shows. I actually ended up videotaping Wishes,Fantasmic, Illuminations and MVMCP but unfortunately it all came out looking like it was filmed by Don Knotts in The Shakiest Gun in the West. We are planning on getting a tripod for this trip so we can get some less shakey video but I'm wondering how easy it is to set up during some of the shows as far as room goes and how annoying is it to carry a tripod around the parks. Can anyone reccomend a nice, compact tripod that is easier to manage? Should we just consider just renting a locker instead?

My next question concerns MNSSHP. We really want to dress up but are having a hard time finding Disney themed costumes for adults. There was a thread about this awhile back but I can't seem to find it. In the thread someone suggested a website that had a fairly good selection of adult Disney costumes but I can't remember what the site was. Can anyone help by either giving me the website or providing a link where this was discussed before? Thanks in advance for all of your help.

Try using a monopod. When collapsed, it ends up being relatively small & can be extended to use like a walking stick. I brought one of these last year & it worked out well. With a tripod, you have to worry about people tripping over it. With the monopod, it doesn't spread out. I also bring a mini-tripod which fits in a backpack or your back pocket. This can be set on top of a garbage can & used with the video or digital still cam. It will assist in getting those GREAT night time stills.

We were looking at the monopods at Best Buy the other night. I can see how they would reduce the up and down shakiness but what about the side to side sway? On a related note, can anyone tell me the best way to get good nighttime shots with a Kodak Easy Share? I've tried every setting on the thing and I still get horrible nighttime/fireworks/show shots. Oh, and thanks for the advice by the way Montymon and Cooleo!

I have an EasyShare DX4330 and have had success with a monopod or just bracing against something solid, like a lamppost or a garbage can.

You're Welcome! I have found that I don't have much of a problem with side to side sway when using a monopod. Plus, it makes it easy to pan around when videoing by simply rotating the monopod. I found myself often times not even taking the monopod off the camera. I would just collapse it & walk around with it hanging around my neck, making it easy to quickly extend when the perfect moment arose. Then when going on a ride, I would just adjust the height so that it rested on the floor of the ride vehicle permitting me to get good video of the ride:cool:
