I think the problems stem from the fact that no one LOVES the parks and it shows, During the 9 Old Men and Eisner periods they genuinely loved the parks and it showed.   Even the first DVC's showed the love  OKW/SSR/AKL look at the details and craftsmanship which is not seen in later DVC's
