First.. my family and I are planning on going to Disneyworld from March 6th until the 13th... does anyone know what typical crowds are like during this time period???

Second... can anyone tell me what the All-Star Music Resort is like? Is one building better than others to stay in? Is it worth paying to stay in the Calypso building??

If you can provide me with any answers that would be great!!!

If you can, stay in the Jazz building. I had a room near the big drum set and was not far away form the main building. The one you might want to avoid is the Country Western building. Its the longest distance away from the main building.

Early March probably will be average attendance. Its usually the end of March and April that the Spring breakers hit WDW.

The Calypso building is cool, but VERY loud at night, if you are planning on being by the pool, oh, it's so noisy!!! I liked staying on the other side of the Calypso building, away from the noise. It's close to the main building. You will want to be close to the main building. P.S. If you don't want to walk far, avoid the Country, Broadway, and Rock'n Roll buildings, they are far away. The resort itself is really nice, but kid oriented, although not as much as the Movies Resort, at least the larger-than-life things at the Music resort are tolerable for grown-ups. It's lots of fun, and cheep, but the rooms are itty bitty, but who cares!!! Have fun!!!

March 4th is Mardi Gras, so there probably be a Louisiana flavor there that week. The schools are out and most of the locals take advantage of that to get out of town. The good news with exception of Mardi Gras running close to or the week of Presidents day, we have not experienced a real crowd during our trips. You should be in good shape. Have fun!

aj_macack - Welcome to the boards !!
Crowds in WDW during early March should be ok - as already posted it doesn't start to get that busy until the end of March and then on into the April Easter period.

Hi,

We stayed at ASM in October of 2002. I have to say it was a pretty decent place to stay for the savings in the money. We only were in our rooms to shower and sleep, so if that's what you plan to do, I would recommend staying there. Also, paying the $10 extra a night for Calypso building was definitely worth it. We did luck out and get to stay on the back side of the building away from the pool, and it wasn't noisy at all. And after a long day at the parks, it was so nice to be that close to your room and not have to walk all the way to the back of the property to the other buildings. Also, it was nice to be that close to the food court. We purchased the $11 refillable mugs and would go fill them up after we got back in at night. Being that close to the food court and the bus stops, it was no problem to hop off the bus at night and make a quick trip to the room and then back to the food court.

Hope this helps.......

The crowds during that time vary , because its a time of the year, when you have alot of college spring breakers down there and some famileis who go on trips. Its not as bad as the summer time, but its defiently still a good time.

As for staying at the All Star Music Resorts, It was a fun time, the rooms were nice and the bed very comfortable compared to say some of the moderate resorts such as dixie landings which were some of the most uncomfortable beds i have ever sleeped in .

The only down side with staying there, is the fact that you are farthest away from every park, so the transportation is sort of slow, so consider so if you are conisdering going out to dinner, plan on leaving at minimum of an hour to an hour and half before your reservation, if you take the bus for your transportation.

Good luck and have fun,
I wish i was going with you hehe hehe

Thank you so much for all the help... We arrive at 9 in the morning in Orlando, so we're hoping that we can sweet talk the staff into a room in the Jazz building, so pay to move to Calypso.... Also, thank you for all your warm welcomes.... I was very surprised, and it was very appreciated!!!

Thank you!!!:D

Only 42 days until our trip!!!!!!!
