Twin Aliens

I just realized that Alien Encounter actually has 2 identical main-show rooms.

How come nobody told me this before? Does everyone know this and I am just particularly slow? (That's one of the attractions I rarely visit.)

For those who are not familiar, one of the show rooms feeds exiting guests outdoors back into Tomorrowland, while the other show room feeds exiting guests into a giftshop. I'm surprised WDI didn't figure out a way to feed both groups into the giftshop.

My biggest question: Did Mission to Mars also feature twin showrooms?

Tk

P.S. If anyone has links to sites with Mission to Mars pictures or other media, I'd appreciate being pointed in the right direction.

when it was flight to the moon there was two theaters in the building. then they changed it to mission to mars and just changed the films to reflect the new show. then with ailen encounter remolded the existing for the new show. With the way they designed the layout both couldnt exit to the gift shop

that would by physically impossible, without having to inconvenience guests with a longer than all hell walk

The attraction design of all three shows (Flight to the Moon, Mission to Mars, and Alien Encounter) all feature a pre-show that is half the length of the main attraction. This duel main attraction theatre system allows twice as many people to view the show while using just one pre-show area. This way, every 5 1/2 minutes, a new group of guests are entering the attraction. Of course, if only one main theatre is in operation, guests have to wait an extra 5 1/2 minutes in the holding area befor ethey are led into the pre-show area. Back when the Walt Disney Story was in operation (on Main Street), it also used a twin theatre system. In fact, one of the theatres is still in existence (to the right of the character mural).

There is now just one theatre where the Walt Disney Story was presented. Theatre one is now gone, part of the Main Street Exhibition Hall, where you can take pictures with the cutouts of Disney characters. Actually the stage area is still there.

the doors to theatre two are still to the right of the character mural. the last time I was in both theatres was during the 25th Anniversary celebration. the were showing preview movies of the Disney cruise line, Animal Kingdom, etc....this was the year they gave you the pin with the year of your first visit to WDW.

I chickened out for this one (don't laugh) and was waiting in the gift shop for my mum and dad. i WAS waiting for about 20 mins and they never came out and when I came out they were on the wall. They liked the ride and apparently my Mum was really scared.:fork:

I was in both theaters in one show two weeks ago. They let too many people into the show, so many people couldn't find a seat and the show was starting. So they took us out into the hallway and moved us into the other theater.

It was only about a quarter full and they told us to sit on the left hand side as it is a little better apparently.
