Tusker House or Chef Mickey's?

...we have done Chef Mickey's already twice and we aren't that big on taking time out of park hours for dining, especially character dining. Which do you prefer and why? Mickey's isn't great, but my family is full of picky eaters so will the so-called African flavors be a waste of money/DDP credits? Thanks :)

What meal? Did Tusker House for breakfast in September, and although the food was good, check-in was chaotic. I would second Ohana. We've done breakfast and dinner and loved them both.

We have done Tusker House for breakfast (good food but quick character interactions) and Chef Mickey's for dinner (food wasn't the best, but the character interactions were great - several of the characters even pulled me up for a hug when they saw my Birthday button). I'd also have to cast another vote for 'Ohana - I love that place! Have you tried Crystal Palace? Getting into the MK early was awesome, and the food was yummy.

Tusker House has regular people food, is inside a park and the characters are all dressed in their safari outfits, so it gets my vote...and double vote since you've already done CM's. :)

Unless someone is taking a morning or afternoon off, I never like the idea of leaving a park to eat. The meal itself takes enough time out. Time is precious during WDW vacations. So, time out for transportation to and from a park just to eat...nah.

Tusker is great for breakfast, not so good for dinner

This...Chef Mickey would be my choice for this reason.

We haven't tried this but I would love to get in MK early though I'm not a fan of missing the opening show. With Cindy's being 2 credits, I don't know if we can add this to our schedule. Maybe the princess dinner at EPCOT would be better because it's only one credit?

I really like the breakfast at Tusker House. Im not a huge buffet person, but i like it there. Chef Mickeys is ok, but its so much bigger and depending on your time schedule and whether you want to meet all five charaters (which i would assume you do) it can be long. But if you are going with kids, i dont think you could go wrong either way. Id also agree maryszhi about Ohana breakfast. Another i prefer over Chef Mickeys.
