Tusker House and Yak & Yeti

Ok, I have 2 questions:

1. If anyone who calls Disney Dining gets info on either of these locations being ready to take ADR's would you please share?

&

2. As far as Tusker House goes, I have never eaten there before and I don't know the layout, but on Allearsnet it says this in regards to after the renovation:

[FONT=Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]"Reservations will not be needed for the outdoor seating since that area will not be part of the Character Breakfast." [/FONT]

Does anyone have a guess as to how this will work? Do you think the buffet will be available outside without the characters? Or do you think this means you can sit outside but it won't be the full buffet that they'll be having inside?

Just curious on both of these because I'm still trying to make plans for December.

My thoughts

Here is the info that I found:

Donald's Safari Breakfast Buffet will be offered from 8:00 am to 10:30 am featuring Donald, Daisy, Mickey and Goofy (characters subject to change without notice.) The lunch / dinner buffet (no characters) will be offered from 11:30 am - park close. Reservations for all meal periods will be accepted by calling 407-WDW-DINE up to 180 days in advance.

BUT..................my 180 days for ADR's has come and gone and I called this morning, still not able to take ADR's. The CN said possible sometime in August.

I am thinking that they are refering to the [FONT=Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]Kusafiri Coffee Shop and Bakery that will remain open but only from the outdoor window, the outside seating will be for that and no reservations will be needed. [/FONT]

Thanks for the reply, I am definitely thinking that I will want an ADR when it becomes available just in case this "outdoor seating" is not part of the breakfast buffet.

It's not the characters I'm concerned with nearly as much as the FOOD! :slurp:

Reservations are not yet being accepted for either Tusker House Restaurant or Yak & Yeti Restaurant. I will be happy to post when they are.

Some info on Yak & Yeti Restaurant:

In the summer of 2007, Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park Guests will be able to enjoy both a table service and quick service restaurant in Asia. Schussler Creative and Landry's, best known on property for the Rainforest Cafe, will build an approximately 17.000 square foot two story restaurant. This will be the first Operating Participant to operate a dining facility within the Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park.

Geographically, the restaurant will be located in the mythical town of Anandapur, a small, poor, rural village in the Himalayan foothills, just steps away from the new Expedition Everest - Legend of the Forbidden Mountain attraction. The grand old house of one of Anandapur's wealthiest merchants has been converted to this fine indoor dining experience featuring his collection of artifacts including statues, fine tapestries and 900 pound, gold inlaid silk puppets. The outdoor seating area will be set amongst lush greenery, authentic artifacts, fountains and a sacred lingham stone river.

This Asian-fusion establishment will offer table-service dining, a full service bar, as well as quick-service food and beer garden options, along with retail offerings from Pan Asia ranging from silk purses, incense and saris to fine teapots. It will seat 250 inside for table service dining and 350 in their quick service courtyard. The table service restaurant (Yak & Yeti Restaurant) will be open for lunch and dinner. The outdoor quick service restaurant (name not yet anounced) will be open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

Some info on Tusker House Restaurant:

Tusker House Restaurant is being converted from a quick-service restaurant to a buffet restaurant. It will offer a character breakfast buffet, called Donald's Safari Breakfast, from 8 a.m. - 10:30 a.m. and a lunch/dinner buffet from 11:30 a.m. until park close for thelunch/dinner buffet.

The restaurant will feature indoor seating only for the character breakfast buffet and both indoor and outdoor seating for the lunch/dinner buffet. The outdoor seating (for up to 52 guests) will be walk up only for the lunch/dinner buffet.

In order for Tusker House Restaurant to be converted to a buffet restaurant, it will be closed for refurbishment from August 20 until November 17. During that time, Safari Celebration Dinner Grand Gatherings will not take place.
With the character breakfast opening at Tusker House Restaurant, Donald's Breakfastosaurus character breakfast at Restaurantosaurus will be discontinued after November 5. Restaurantosaurus will continue to be open for lunch as a quick-service restaurant. Hours of operation will be 10:30 a.m. until park close.

SPEAKING of Yak and YETI, HOLY PROGRESS BATMAN!!! I walked by there today and the entire second floor is up, the windows are all installed, and they were putting kitchen equipment in today!!!
