Hey!
I'm considering transferring to UCF, but was wondering how the tuition reimbursement that Disney offers works exactly? I'm not completely sure if I'll transfer there, but if I like Orlando enough, I just might.

Approved by your area's VP, so depends on each individual area. Provided it in someway relates to your current role, you could be covered. See the 'disney difference' tab on the Portal.

Make sure you know if you x-fer to UCF, though, you'll be paying out-of-state tuition for a year. I was going to do the same thing 'till I saw that out-of-state tuition was like 5x more than regular. Makes LSU look like chump change.

Disney will only pay if you are a full time cast member. They will also only pay for those classes that can improve your role in the show. (Business classes, hospatility, maybe fine arts) All depends on the many people you go through. Your manager, area manager, and park/resort VP have to sign off on it.

UCF is pricy to out of state ppl. Trust me, my bank account has felt the pain of it. UCF will also only take undergrads with no more then a few credits or if you have your AA from a community college. Not saying they dont take transfers, but they dont make it easy at all. Its a good idea if you get a chance to go over and meet with them and talk about your plans.

Thanks so much for the info! I'm not going to transfer, though. I'm going to come home and finish school, then stay in Louisiana for a year before moving (not necessarily to Florida, though) . :)

So it's hard to transfer to UCF? I live in Miami and I was planning on getting my AA here at MDC and also do the WDWCP before I transferred to UCF for my BA. I hope this isn't impossible to do. :veryconfu

Transfering to UCF with your AA is easy. I got my AA and then transferred and because they have rolling admissions I knew within a few weeks of applying. Just remember that each program has different admission requirements.

You'll have a MUCH easier time than anyone else because you live in-state. The problems people incur are when x-fering from out of state. Going to a bachelor-level school with an AA is no problem.
