TTC and WL question

Hi, I will be staying at the Swan/Dolphin on an upcoming trip. One day I will park my car at TTC and then head over to MK. The park is open until 10pm that day.

I would like to stop by WL after the park closes since I have never seen it before and would like to check it out as an option for an upcoming stay.

Will they allow me to park at WL just to pop in for a look around (ie 20-30 minutes)? :lookaroun

I only have 2 days at WDW so that time would be my only option to see WL.

Thanks!

IIRC, there is still a bus that goes from the TTC to the WL. Worse comes to worse, you could take the bus or boat from the MK to the WL, and then bus it back to your car afterwards. It's a really short trip, so it shouldn't add more time to your trip.

Some security guards can be a royal pain about letting guests in for a "look around", so this method may lead to fewer hassles for you!

I was thinking about this option too, as it would be nice to experience the boat ride. However, how late will buses run back to TTC from WL? If they will still head there until say 11pm that would be fine. Could I keep my car at TTC that late? Also will there be still be trams running out to the nether regions of the parking lot? :)

I don't know how long they would be heading back, but I figure it should be at least until the MK closes... I guess your best option would be to ask at the TTC when you park your car that day, especially given how variable the schedules seem to be.

And as for trams out to the nether regions - I dunno. But I have kept my car parked at the TTC for a good two hours after park closing before (we went to eat at Ohana), and we didn't have any problems. We did, however, have to walk back to the car (not a big deal - we weren't that far back).

Anyone can visit the resorts to look around. Just let the guard know you are checking it out "for future reference". Since you are heading over after the parks close I would drive since the bus may stop running before you are ready to leave; it also lends more credence to your reason for visiting... you aren't trying to avoid parking fees if the parks are closed. Take a look around the beautiful lobby and maybe stop by the Roarin' Forks for a snack.

My daughter had a friend that moved away to the St. Petersburg, and twice while we were at WDW staying at WL they came to spend the day with us. Neither time did they have any problem with security telling them that they were meeting us. They were even parking their car in the lot for the entire day while we visited a park, so I don't imagine that you would have any problem with security at the end of the day to check out the resort.

Here's a better idea! :)

For a more exciting trip, make reservations at the Whispering Canyon (in the Wilderness Lodeg) for lunch or dinner!

Take the boat right from the Magic Kingdom docks and enjoy a nice ride across the lake, past the Contemporary and over towards Fort Wilderness. From the WL dock to the Whispering Canyon dining room, you will get to walk though the grounds past the pool area, the geyser, and into the huge lobby!

Enjoy a fun meal with the WL cast members, then take either the bus or boat back over to the MK. You will have a nice relaxing visit to the WL and get to see EVERYTHING! You can't beat the views of the MK, Contemporary, or WL from the boats!

Waiting til the park closes will prevent you from being able to see a lot of what makes the WL so special, and the travel worries are just not worth it at the end of the day. You will probably not want to have to worry abobut catching another bus after running around the park all day!

HAVE FUN!!!

There are no longer buses that run from the WL to the TTC. You'd have to be there and get back before MK transportation shuts off for the night.
