Trying to Decide on a DVC Property

Hello - I am in the process of planning a week-long family vacation to Walt Disney World in October/November 2004 for my Mother's 60th Birthday. There will be six (three are 27, 31, 56, and 59) of us traveling and we thought it would be fun if we all stayed in a two-bedroom villa at one of the DVC properties.

I stayed at the Boardwalk Villas in 1997 and enjoyed it very much. I've also visited the Old Key West Resort, and thought it was very nice, but not as spectacular as the Boardwalk.

I have not been down to WDW since they opened The Villas at Wilderness Lodge or the Beach Club Villas. What I am wondering is what people think is the superior property (if you've stayed at or visited all four) and how you would rank them 1, 2, 3, and 4 (1 being the best).

Also, what are people hearing about the Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa opening in 2004 as the latest DVC property? Will it be as nice as the Boardwalk/Beach Club/Wilderness Lodge properties?

Thank you so much for your help on this!

Wilderness lodge and BC are both great choices, I have not stayed at the actual BCV but have at the hotel it self and it is very nice with that beach theme, they have a great pool and slide maybe best on prop. I am a owner at WLV and must say it is one of my fav hotels ANYWHERE! Warm, coszy, like you are not even in Fla. great resturaunts, short baot ride to Mk (BCV short walk to Epcot) and just a really nice themed hotel. What ever you choose you won't go wrong but I have to give WL a bit of an edge.:king:

#1 BCV. Great location,(close to 2 parks) wonderful pool, my personal favorite themeing. While no food court, many restrant choices close by (and all of world show case.) THIS RESORT ROCKS!!!!!!!!! (also DVD players in the 1 bedrooms and up.)

#2 VWL. Havent's stayed there yet. :animwink: but it is our home resort and I have heard wonderful things about it. Close to MK.

#3 BWV, good location (like BCV) fun theming. Has 3 bedroom grand villas for those who are interested. (this is 3rd because BCV pool is tons better.) Also you can save some points with getting a not prefered room, but they fill up fast.

#4 I would think is SSR. Being new. However it is like OKW where it is spread out and indivudal buildings. I don't know if they have elevators yet. The pool looks really cool, also has a good spa. Location may be good near DTD, or it might be bad (noise late a night.) I hope they didn't make the same mistakes as they did with OKW, (bus rote and rooms too near the road, hearing the busses and carts wiz by at all hours.)

#5, OKW. While OKW has it own charm and good things about it, it is difficult to do with out a car and most building do not have elevators (did I mention it is hard to get a sleeping 2 year old in her stoller up the outside steps in the pouring rain?) It is more relaxed and laid back the the CM are really good at Welcome Home and they really mean it. It does really feel like it a true DVC resort. (but also my least fav!, I am like the Deluxes.) The 1 and 2 bedrooms are bigger then all other resorts and the studios have 2 queen beds, instead of one and couch. This might be good for you if you are using the 2nd bed for adults to sleep in. Point for point OKW is the best bang for your bucks (or points.)

All in all you really can't go wrong with DVC resorts they are each great and so much better then a normal resort room.

Have a wonderful trip.
