Trundle beds

I saw a picture form another site over the weekend that showed a trundle bed in the POR. Do all of the rooms have the trundle beds? Or was this the way Disney does an extra bed? If it is an added benefit in the moderates do other properties have them?If it has already been posted I apologize. Next October my wife, siter and a friend are going to disney and we are trying to save money so that rules out the deluxes and my sister and my wife's friend would prefer to not share a bed.

Only certain rooms in POR have the trundle beds. I'm sure you'll hear a few comments from others who have used them.
The other option that you might want to consider is the All-Star suites. It's basically 2 rooms and 2 bathrooms with a kitchenette. I believe the cost is a bit more than the moderates, but you might save a bit on food with them. Just a thought...

Heading for the great escape.
We used the trundle beds at POR on a couple of trips. We only stopped using them because the CM on reservations offered a deal on a Cabin at Fort Wilderness. After that we would never go back to a trundle bed.

I am assuming that the trundle bed is the bed that slides under one of the standard beds. I have only seen them at POR and they are not in every room at POR. We book these rooms due to a party of 5 and have always been put in the Alligator Bayou section. We have stayed in other sections when it has just been the wife and myself and the rooms did not have trundle beds. The beds are pretty small. My wife is about 5'-5" and it was a little small for her.

If you are paying rack rates at POR then the All Star suites might be a more comfortable option at only a little more money. The rates on the suites are not available on-line so you will need to call Disney directly or contact Pam at Kingdom Konsultants and she can give you all your options.

I just booked my trip yesterday and I am staying at POR. The trundle beds are only available in the Bayou section and are recommended for children. Unless you are a small adult, you could be cramped for space.

We used a trundle bed during a trip to POR in May 2005 with an 12, 13, and 14-year-old. The 12-year-old, who is small for his age, slept in the trundle. It was OK, but I wouldn't really recommend it.

Just 45 days 'til the next trip!:xmas:

Just to confirm...

Trundle beds are only available in select rooms in the Alligator Bayou section of Disney's Port Orleans-Riverside Resort. Currently they are not offered at any other Disney property. The trundle bed is a request and cannot be guaranteed except for families of 5 guests (including 1 child under the age of 10) staying in one room. There is no extra charge for this bed. The bed is 35" wide x 65" long and is not recommended for anyone over the age of 9, more then 5 ft tall, or weigh over 150 lbs.
