Tue, August 28, 2018 Sneak Peek: What to Discover at The Tropical Hideaway in Disneyland Park

Earlier this year, we announced that guests will soon discover a new area of Adventureland at Disneyland park called The Tropical Hideaway. Today, we have a bit more to share with all you curious explorers!

This new spot will serve as an exotic marketplace for discovering extraordinary eats from all corners of the world. A variety of unique food and beverage items will be available for adventurous palates of all types!

With its proximity to the Jungle Cruise, you never know what appetizing goods will be available in the trader’s market! Imagine tempting your taste buds with one of the many market eats, such as a warm steamed bao bun. These unique bao buns will come in three different types – Spiced Vegetable Bao, Kaffir Lime Chicken Bao, and Bulgogi Beef Bao. You can also try a delicious chilled ramen salad or grab a tropical-inspired snack. And for a sweet treat, you can try Sweet Pineapple Lumpia, a spring roll filled with pineapple and sweet cream cheese!

After picking up a snack or two, choose a spot on the open-air dock, soak in the sights of the Jungle River waterfront, sit back, and listen to the musical sounds of the tropics – all while experiencing delicious new tastes! After the sun goes down, flickering torch lights will illuminate the area, transforming The Tropical Hideaway into an enchanting nighttime venue.

More surprises await you at The Tropical Hideaway, opening later this year. Stay tuned to the Disney Parks Blog for more details!

Sounds nice. Can’t wait to never go there because it’s always full of annoying AP’s.

What to you reckon the odds are of Bengal BBQ closing once this is open? Or just supplemented once this is open?

It will be a SoCal AP magnet for sure, but better than a Florida Tourist magnet. Robert Niles throws some shade at the Sunshine State today by describing the Tropical Hideaway menu thusly....

Tropical Hideaway's menu will feature the Sweet Pineapple Lumpia spring roll from Pandora's Pongu Pongu bar. The dessert features a pineapple and cream cheese filling. In addition, the Disneyland restaurant also will serve Bao, which appear on the menu at Pandora's Satu'li Canteen.

Instead of the Cheeseburger Bao served in Florida, California's menu is getting the more "grown-up" flavors, including a Spiced Vegetable Bao, a Kaffir Lime Chicken Bao, and a Bulgogi Beef Bao.

Is there any indication whether this is supposed to open sometime in the fall or if it will be closer to the new year? I thought it was far off but if they are releasing the menu maybe this will be happening in the next month or two.

liked this since the moment i saw it... a lovely little thing.
obviously compliments the area quite well, and in more ways than one - really look forward to sipping a bev on that dock.

I am confused to the location of this to the JUNGLE CRUISE. Are they tearing down part of the que building to make this? are they building this in a area behind the que building? are they cutting into the already perfect transition area in between JUNGLE CURISE to TEMPLE OF THE FORRIBIDDEN EYE? and if so, does that mean the DOMINGUEZ TREE is gone? I am just trying to grasp it's location. thanks.
