Hard Rock Hotel, to me, can do no wrong. However, they should mention, since they advertise renovated rooms/lobby, that NONE of the Kid Suites were renovated. Our room was disgraceful for the $650+/ night we paid. Example- rug had MANY pulls, furniture (all of it) was warped or some way damaged (looked like it came from a yard sale), bed spread was frayed, had runs in it, couch was stained, walls literally had a layer of dust on them (which hubs had housekeeping take care of), shower door didn't close, the list goes on. I was willing to over look it because I LOVE THIS HOTEL. I did speak with a manager, not to "get anything", but as it is our home away from home, I wouldn't want this room to be someone else's first impression of such a lovely property, they'd never return. So, we have collectively decided as a family, we will just get 2 connecting rooms next time. The rest of the hotel was perfect and the staff is just incredible. And the gate going from the pool to the parks has been fixed!!!!! Works BEAUTIFULLY EVERY TIME!
The parks were glorious, as they always are.
STUDIOS: We FINALLY got the secret codes to work on HRRR and clearly there is no better song to ride to than Black Sabbath Paranoid. I saw ET on Mummy, but for the life of me couldn't find Kong- better luck next time. DA didn't seem as packed as normal, I got to see a LOT more, always finding something new when we have the opportunity to look up without running into people- like the wall with all the owls-so pretty. Got to go on the Immigration Tour on MIB AND scored enough to be Galaxy Defenders-finally! The new Marilyn was flirting with my 14 yo son in the props store in true MM fashion. She was a doll and my son was so embarrassed :D Took a pic in the Secret Life of Pets booth, but must have entered the wrong email, never got it :(
IOA: Only ONE day were we bombarded with Brazilians and their giant backpacks and obnoxious behavior, so I see that as a good trip :) The water blasters at Popeye and Rip Saw now only take tokens (2 for $1) which was a bummer because I brought 80 quarters! The plus side- not so many people are willing to spend 50 cents for a blast, so when riding, you don't get completely drenched. Except for me- I used my credit card and got me some tokens LOL! T Rex on JPRA still scares me and I close my eyes, and I'm almost 40. We missed any softs for Kong-3 of the 5 days we were there it was closed all day. The other 2 days we weren't around during them- no worries, something to look forward to. Hogsmead was slammed- ALL.THE.TIME. The line for a beer in the pub was out the back door :'( I waited in it, but geesh! the Coke Freestyle machines seem VERY popular- every time I saw one there was a super long line for it.
City Walk: we spent a lot of time shopping this time. P!Q has finally gotten more funky stuff, I love that store. Ate at Cowfish and it was delicious. Didn't play mini golf this time, it was just too stinkin' hot!
We didn't get a chance to do everything we wanted because, well we were exhausted- we spent 5 days in San Francisco prior to arriving at UOR. Walking the steep streets of SF puts walking the parks to shame! Plus, the heat was really getting to me- I'm getting too old for that non-sense :D
Really looking forward to our October trip- cooler weather, HHN, Kong, and hearing Hulk roar again!
