I have just returned from a short trip to Disneyland Paris. I had heard a lot of negative things about it, but I am pleased to report that I had a really great time! As you will see in my photos, the weather was against us, but we still managed to have a good time. Most of my friends that I was with were "Disney Virgins" ( ) , and I think what made it a extra special was seeing how much they enjoyed their first trip to a Disney park, and how amazed they were at things they saw, such as the themeing etc.
A lot of comparisons are made between Disney Paris, and Walt Disney World in Florida. I think that it is unfair to do this, as they are completely different experiences. I had heard a few things about the cast members (staff) being not very friendly in Paris, and gladly this was not the case, the cast members were polite and friendly, and basically everything they should be. The only incident that occurred was when some of our group went on Rock N Rollercoaster, and it broke down, I don't know all the details but basically the ride broke down, and I think they put the lights on, and a CM came over to escort them out. They didn't know better, so they attempted to take a few photos as they were getting out of the ride, to which the CM said "Don't do that...are you stupid!? ......... Oh no, sorry, you're English" I wasn't there, so I can only assume the CM was having a joke.. I hope so anyway!
All the rides were practically walk on, except for Big Thunder Mountain, for which we had to queue for about 10-15mins, which bearing in mind we hadn't had to queue for anything before this, we didn't mind. I was impressed with the new park, Disney Studios. It's small, but looks good and has some great attractions, ideal for Disney virgins. We thought that the language barrier was going to be a problem, but most cm's spoke English, and everything was well marked out, shows such as Honey I Shrunk the Audience provided headsets, the only ride we had a problem on was Star Tours, it was all in French, so we didn't really have much idea of what was going on, we still enjoyed the ride though
.
Overall, it was a really great trip, I would recommend it to anyone, I can't wait to go back! (Whenever that may be!
