Trip Report! Nov. 20-27th!

Hey everyone! I got back from my Thanksgiving Disney vacation yesterday! (It still feels weird to think that yesterday morning I was cruising down Splash Mountain and the Haunted Mansion!) Like all Disney trips it was fun and relaxing. We stayed at the Wilderness Lodge Villas and our room overlooked some swampy forest. I won't go inot a play by play account because I think that would bore y'all to tears. Let's just say I rode pretty much all the usual "big rides" and saw all the fireworks shows (except Fantasmic). I'll just tell y'all about the new/specific things I did.

I rode Stitch's Great Escape, and to tell the truth I wasn't such a big fan of it. It was cute, and the Stitch animatronic was well done, but it still felt like they just took Alien Encounter and made it kid friendly. Honestly, riding it made me really nostalgic for Alien Encounter.

Went to Animal Kingdom at night and walked around, this was pretty neat, I'd never seen AK all lit up until then. I must say, the Tree Of Life is very impressive when it's lit up.

Wow, Everest is looking REALLY neat! I can't wait to ride it! It looked like they were starting to put the mesh outer coating on it, and in some places I thought I saw some concrete already coating the mesh so it's coming along really nicely.

The new Osbourne Lighs were alright, but I liked them better when they were on the backlot houses. They just looked more believeable on the houses than on the big city buildings. But it was still nice to get to see them again.

The new holiday ending to IllumiNations is really great! I must admit, I was expecting maybe a few extra fireworks, but this thing was like a whole additional show! It was very well done and it definately is worth getting a chance to see. As we walked to our busses they were projecting holiday messages in different languages onto the side of Spaceship Earth!

Oh by the way, in case anyone's wondering, we had Thanksgiving dinner at Artist's Point and it was a very plesent experiance.

Thanks for the report.

Glad to hear about the new Illuminations ending. Chances are I'll like that portion better than all of ROE ;)
