May 12- We left Providence around 10AM and got into Orlando ahead of schedule, which would have been great but we used the Disney "Magical" Express. What a mistake we waited almost 2 hours for a bus to come and take us to Wilderness Lodge. Not a very magical experience and not a good way to start a vacation. Check in was fast and we had a great room with a courtyard view but our luggage didn't show up for almost 5 hours!! :fork: Good thing I packed the bathing suits in our carry ons. Ate lunch at Whispering Canyons and headed over to Epcot for Extra Magic Hours. Soaring was incredible (make sure you get the 1st row!). Saw Illuminations which was awesome as always. Garden and Flower Festival was great. Went back to hotel and had a drink and then off to bed!!
May 13- It's my husband's birthday and it a day packed with fun! First we head over to Magic Kingdom and my husband gets a haircut and some pixie dust compliants of Michael. We catch Cinderellabration and wander around. No lines and we get on everything we want to! We have PS at 2PM at CRT and when we get there the table is all decorated for my husband's birthday. We have a fabulous lunch and head back to the hotel for swim and to relax a little. When we got to the room the giftbasket I ordered from the Disney Florist arrived. My husband was really surprised! Then it was off to Downtown Disney and Cirque!! A surprise for my husband. The show was absolutely the best thing I have ever seen. We have to make it a must do on all our trips. So much to look at!!
Took a bus back to Wilderness Lodge but got on the wrong bus and ended up at the Campground. There were 3 other couples on the bus and they were headed to the Grand Floridian and the bus driver yelled at all of us. I thought he was going to leave us in the woods!! Finally, he agreed to drive us to our hotels. All the other buses have all three resorts listed so we really weren't paying attention but he should have told us where we were going. Most of the drivers do!
May 14- Headed out a little late this morning and headed to MGM. The new stunt show was great and the crowds weren't too bad. Noticed a lot of rude people this trip and a lot of people who weren't really in the Disney mood! Did the backlot tour and my husband was cast as an extra (he was the captain) and he had a ball!! Saw Beauty and the Beast (our favorite stage show). Meet the Incredibles and basically walked around and did a little shopping. Ate lunch at PrimeTime cafe and were near people who didn't get the whole theme of the restaurant. Our "cousin" wasn't really that friendly and my husband loves that place because he loves to act crazy! Food was awesome and so were the drinks!! Caught the bus back to the hotel and went in the pool and got some sun. Headed over to the Magic Kingdom for SpectroMagice and Wishes and the park was open until 11PM so we got to ride alot of rides in a short period of time. Did the jungle cruise at night and Pirates!! Haunted Mansion and It's a Small World which is nice and bright and new!! Took the boat back to the hotel and went to sleep.
May 15- Got up late again and just enjoyed the patio and the pool. Did some laudry and decided to go back to Epcot. We got right on Soaring. Did Turtle Talk which was so cute!! Really looked at the flowers and ended up in Italy for more shopping and Bellini's and lunch! Lunch was like eating at home and it was very relaxing plus it was nice to hear our native language. More Bellini's and dessert!! Finished the countries and headed back to the hotel but not before a trip to Mouse Gears where I got my mickey braclet that matches my necklace. They were sold out everywhere and I got the last one. Picked up a shirt and tie for the hubby and then it was off to the pool for some frozen drinks!! Went and changed and headed to Pleasure Island and the Adventurer's Club. It was not crowded at all and it was as fun as always. A few new cast members but fun none the less. By this time I was starving so we headed over the Planet Hollywood for a very late dinner.
May 16- It was so bright and sunny when we woke up that we hung by the pool (called Tiffany Towncar for a ride back to the airport the next day because we did not trust the Magical Express) and then decided to rent a boat for a few hours. It was the perfect day and lots of fun to cruise around Bay Lake and Seven Seas Lagoon. We then decided to head over to Typhoon Lagoon. The Crush and Gush was awesome and there was no line. Did all three slides and then hit the lazy river. Got a little hungry so we grabbed a hotdog and laid in the sun for a few hours. Got back to hotel in time to grab and shower and head over the Kona Cafe at the Poly. One of our favorite restaurants. It looked like it was going to pour and there was quite a bit of lightening so we decided to head back to the hotel for a few drinks and some sleep!
May 17- Sad day- we are flying home so we decided to get a late checkout. I packed and got ready and then we hit the Magic Kingdom for one last time for a few months. Did a little more shopping and just got on as many rides as possible!! Got back to the hotel just in time for Tiffany Towncar.
We had a wonderful relaxing time and did not try to get everything done this time. We are going back in the fall and spending Christmas in Disney for the first time. The crowds were very light and the wait times were next to nothing. Food was great and the company was even better!! Now it's back to reality and time to the plan the next trip!! Wilderness Lodge was awesome and they even called us the second day to see if we wanted to be upgraded to the conceirge level- but we declined because we were all moved in and actually loved the room and the location. Only low point of the trip was the Magical Express! Oh well!! Hope I didn't bore you! :animwink:
