Trip Report from 6/29-7/9

Okay, better late than never right? I'm not sure why I haven't posted this sooner, maybe I've been in denial that our trip is over?! Anyway, in general, we had a great time. I went with my 2 children, ages 8 and 9. The 1st night we ate at La Cellier and it was the best meal of our entire trip. It was fantastic. We stayed at Pop Century in the 50's building, building # 1 room 1215 and we liked it there. It was clean, the pools were fun, and it served its purpose. The person checking us in was great and everything we requested we got. The food court was okay and the refillable mugs were worth getting. The heat wasn't too bad and only once was there a very long wait for the shuttle bus to MK. The spray water fans were a must have. I was worried about the crowds but I found that the only park that was extremely crowded was MK but if we went early there wasn't a wait for any of the rides. All of the other parks were fine crowd wise and we had to wait maybe 20 minutes top for a ride. A few days into our trip the three of us became extremely sick for about 24 hours and the day after still had to stay in because we felt sore and weak. That part was horrible. Mousekeeping was very kind and always brought whatever we needed asap. The only bad part was we had a reservation for the luau at the Polynesian. We were on the Disney dining plan and would be charged if we did not cancel 48 hours ahead of time. I made some phone calls and ended up having to go to the front desk and try to explain how sick we all were so possibly we would not be charged. Nothing worked and we were charged for it. We were so sick there was no way we could go. But after all of that things were good again. We visited the AKL, dinner at Boma was great, my children loved it. My daughter went to the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique and LOVED IT. Even though the castle package is pricey, it was worth every penny. Also, My daughter really enjoyed Wonderland Teaparty at the Grand Floridian and my son really liked the Pirate Cruise at the GF. I would highly recommend both. We also thought Cirque du Soleil was worth going to see.The three of us now are having Disney withdrawls and are trying to figure out how soon we can go back.:)

Glad to hear that despite the sickness you all had a good time - shame on Disney still charging you for the meal at the Poly.

Thanks for the post

Sounds like you had a good time apart from being sick. The only thing i could ask about is Cirque du Soleil. I suggested it to my parents and they saw the WDW TV commercial for it and thaught, yeh, it could be good. Well it turned out it was like $100 each since i'm literally an adult. How can Cirque du Soleil be worth $100 each?

Cirque du Soleil probably isn't for everyone. I decided to take my children because it was their 1st trip and it was my 1st time as an adult going to Disney. Because we like stuff like that anyway, I thought it might be nice. I do think it is so much better in person than watching it on tv, but that's just me. So for us, I think it was worth it, but I can absolutely understand people not wanting to pay that amount for tickets. If I went to Disney more frequently I wouldn't see it every time.
