Day 4
We got up early and headed for the magic kingdom. The bus was pretty full but we still got seats. When we first walked into MK, we met up with Cruella De Ville and got photos and autograph. She was pretty cool...she had attitude like Jafar...when he signed the autograph book, he held it up high where the kids couldnt reach in a teasing way. He also threw their book (gently) on the ground. He only did this with older kids that wouldnt be afraid. They did a great job staying in character. We went straight to the castle and took lots of pictures...stopping to have our photo taken with the castle in the background. We went to tommorrow land and only had a 5 minute wait for space mountain and no wait for alien encounter and the other rides. After wiping out everything in tomorrowland, we stopped for an early lunch at the big eating place there (its slipping my mind) the one with the lounge singing dinolizard. The kids really liked him. After that, we hit adventure land and then toontown. We had no wait on everything in both areas except the judges tent, where we waited about 15 minutes to see mickey. Later in the day, we waited about 15 minutes to see Cinderella too. The kids loved the barnstormer, it was my 3 year olds first roller coaster. After that, we headed back to the castle for the show and then the Share a Dream parade. Beautiful! The kids loved it. We had to leave the park at 5 and head over to the Contemporary for dinner at chef mickeys. We hopped on the monorail for that. When we got there, our picture was taken and we were seated right away. This is a must do if you have small kids, even dh (who can be a stick in the mud) was twirling his napkin
After dinner, we headed back to the hotel, after a full monorail ride around...and spent a couple hours in the pool and just enjoyed the resort. We finally got into bed around 10 to get ready for our long day at MK.
Day 5
We headed out early so we could be at MK before it opened. Today was completely different than all the other days, there were more people and the busses were standing room only. We went completely around the park, doing nearly everything and a few things we had done the day before. We had waits for Splash Mountain, Big Thunder Mountain and Peter Pan but walked right on everything else. The crowds were very light once we got past the entrance. In the afternoon, I headed for the haunted mansion since it had been closed for referbishing and was to reopen today. I was prepared to wait in line but was shocked to see no line when I got there...just a CM standing at the entrance. When I got up to him, he told me it was still closed and wouldnt open until tomorrow. This was a huge disappointment since this was the one thing I really wanted to see.
We skipped the 3:30 parade since we had seen it the day before and took advantage of the extra time to finish up rides and shows. We spent the next hour or two going shop to shop on main street and purchasing way too many things. By 6:30, we had gotten around to nearly everything and decided to stake out a good seat for the Spectromagic parade. We managed to get right in front of the castle on the curb and had great seats so we thought we would just stay there for the grand finale at 9. Unfortunately, I didnt research to know that the fireworks are behind the castle so we didnt get the best view of that part...however, we had the most awesome seats to watch tinkerbell come down, we could see her perfectly!! I got some amazing shots of the castle with fireworks bursting behind it so we werent dissapointed at all. We lingered a bit afterwards, not wanting to leave because we knew it would be a few years before we got to come back.
Day 6
We got up early and had breakfast at boatwrights again. I had to have the banana french toast one more time
By 10:30 we were off to the airport and after a 2 hour flight delay, on our way home. We spent most of the night talking about our trip and decided the next trip we would stay at the Grand Floridian with a view of the castle. :sohappy:
First Day home
We didnt have to go back to work today so while the kids were at school, we took a 2 hour drive up to the disney store. I had to coax dh into it. We got our 3 year old the Cinderella dress, gloves, shoes, crown and wand. (she loves cinderella) We boxed it up and drew postmarks on it and included a note inside of it thanking my daughter for visiting her at the castle and telling her she had sent her something to make her a real princess just like Cinderella. Abbi was so excited and is still telling everyone about Cinderella sending her a dress just like hers.
Im sure I left out tons of things but I am still so excited. It was the best week of my life and I cant wait to go back again.
Thanks for letting me share!
