Trip Report Dec 26th-29th

Hello,

First let me say, we had a blast! Yes, it was a short trip during a busy time but we still had fun. Warning! Some of my comments may offend you, but just relax and get over it!

Dec 26th:

Arrived on Independence Air to MCO. A packed full flight, but at 89 bucks 1 way from New England, its steal! We used QuickSilver, which was great and was way better than waiting outside in the cold for Mears. (It was only 46 degrees) Our driver was friendly, except he was ed our flight was late arriving. Oh well. We stayed at the Wyndham Palace. Check-in was a little chaotic, the desk staff was tired. Our room was nice, except for the missing balcony, broken internet, broken safe, missing mini-fridge and exposed carpet staples near the bathroom. (OOUCH!) However, considering the short trip, we only requested the internet be fixed so I could check email once daily for work. We had a nice dinner at the hotel's "The Outback" restaurant and we to sleep.

Dec 27th:

We were up early and caught the 7:30am bus to the Magic Kindom. All parks were opening at 8am this week. Best part about the Wyndham....being first on the bus route. We got a seat and only made 1 other stop at the Hilton before going to MK. The bus was packed full after stopping at the Hilton. Of course this meant longer waits for guests of the other Downtown Disney Hotels. I hope the driver went back made additional trips just for them.

8:00am - Arrived at MK. Not crowds. We went did Haunted Mansion, Big Thunder Mountain, and Pirates of the Carribean all before 9:30am! We pressed on to do some of the smaller rides like the magic carpet ride before 10:00am. Crowds were starting to pick-up. Next we did the Tiki Bird Show! I have to say the new show is funny and much shorter than the old show. 10:30am Crowds were moderate, but not taking any chances we went over to Tommorrow Land and got fast-passes for space mountain. Strange enough the line was only showing 60 min wait but the fast-passes were already showing 2:00pm. I think alot of people were preparing for the worst. Next we ate lunch, back over near Frontier Land. Don't remember the place, but 16 bucks just for 2 burgers, 2 fries and 2 drinks? (Just me and my wife) I know its a theme park, but I think that is steep for families. 11:30am We decided to try to ride the Tea Cups, WHAMM! WALL TO WALL PEOPLE! One of the cast members told us the park had just reached capacity and closed. Fantasy Land was total gridlock, my wife pointed out that she couldn't see the pavement. We waited approximately 45 mins each to ride the Tea Cups and Cinderella;s carousel. The waiting was awful because there was no-place too stand and the ride lines mixed with the crowd making it hard to tell who was waiting and who just wanted to walk through. The worst part: Strollers! Now wait, I don't hate children, afterall Disney is a special place for them. However, parents that think a toddler in a stroller somehow entitles them to push people out of the way ________ me off. A stroller is not a battering ram! My wife and I were both banged into by strollers several times. We decided to skip the rest of Fantasyland went on to tomorrow land to ride Space Mountain. 2:00pm: Fast-Pass worked great and we space mountain was fun. Next, we did the Transit Authority ride and the Carousel of Progress. 3:30pm: We decided with heavy crowds and maxed out Fast-Pass times. (Indy speedway was showing 9:00pm) to "Hop" to Epcot.

4:00PM Epcot: Much lower crowd levels. We did SpaceShip Earth, Universe of Energy, Journey in Imagination and some shopping.

7:00Pm It was cold and we decided to leave for the day. Downtown Disney bus was waiting in space 26th and we were back at the Wyndham in less than 30 mins. (1 stop at MGM)

Dec 28th: We decided to do the same thing again only this time with MGM. We went in early around 8:00am. Walked on to the Great Movie Ride and Star Tours and saw the Indy Stunt Show. After that we had lunch and then hopped back to Epcot. Warmer weather brought out bigger crowds at Epcot. We got fast passes at 1:00pm for 8:40pm for Test Track. Decided to skip Mission Space since the line was 180 mins and Fast-Pass was maxed out. We spent the rest of the day walking through the international showcase and had dinner at the Mexican San Angels Inn. Nice atmosphere...very limited menu and overpriced. 65 bucks for a dinner for 2 with just water and 1 appetizer. Food was average. 7:30pm Test Track broke down and we were not sure if it was going to start again. The FastPAss was longer than the Standby line as time passed. We decided to call it quits and leave it for our next visit.

Dec 29th: We are leaving today. We did about 1/2 of each park and it gave us something to look forward to on our next visit.
