The crowds were suprisingly light for the 24th through the 26th. For example, a 10 minute wait for Splash in the middle of the day. On the 27th, however, the crowds returned with a vengence, the MK closed around 3pm. It was probably due to the lousy weather, but I will make that trade any day.
On Dec 26, one of the monorails had some mechanical problems, possibly due to the weather in the lower 40's. We had just happened to get a seat in a the front of a monorail when it happened, so we were able to listen to the radio traffic. One of the monorails, (not ours) had lost one of their "brake groups", I think it was monorail coral. Although most of its brakes still worked, the driver explained that they are very safety concious and even if one of the telephones are not working, they will not seat people in that car. He said, though, that most problems can be fixed by simply restarting the monorail.
I was able to get a great view of cars practicing for the new stunt show from the backlot tour. They had at least 3 going.
