Hi everyone - I thought I would share as much as I could remember about our trip to WDW last week.
It's been a long seven years since our last trip and it was worth every dollar we spent!

First, let me begin by saying that Disney is not hurting for tourism (which is great)! We arrived the Sunday of Memorial Day Weekend and it was packed! We stayed at the Wilderness Lodge and arrived very early in the morning. Needless to say, the room wasn't ready. So we headed to the Magic Kingdom - it was quite crowded. In fact, all attractions had steady wait times ( if you didn't have a FastPass). I was happy to see the CBJ had a full house during our showing!

The Wilderness Lodge is beautiful. We have never stayed there before and it takes your breath away when you enter the lobby. We were there for our 1 year anniversary, and the CM's made our stay so special. They even sent us a food basket to the room with a card saying, "Happy Anniversary Mouseketeers".

During the week, the parks were slightly less crowded. But no matter what day we went to EPCOT, there was always a ridiculous line for Test Track. One day we headed over there in the afternoon, and all of the Fastpasses were distributed for the day. Another time, we arrived before the park opened. As soon as the CM lifted the rope, it was a marathon to the Test Tarck. I have never seen something as crazy as hundreds of people running through Innoventions and the Electric Umbrella restaurant just to get on line or get a Fast Pass for this ride! It was unbelievable.

We did the VIP seating for Fantasmic (ate at the Hollywood Brown Derby, which was excellent), and only had to wait 30 minutes for the show instead of 90 minutes. I've never seen the show before and I was in awe. We also did the Keys to the Kingdom tour, which I highly recommend. We had a great tour guide (her name was Robin), and she has been doing the tour for 5 1/2 years. She gave us so many little trivia tidbits about WDW, the MK, and Walt Disney himself. She eluded to the fact that CoP is not doing well and it doesn't look promising for the ride's future. It was not open when we were there, and I was hoping to ride it :( . Second, I have so much more respect for the CM's at Disney. She shared several stories with us about the park and the Disney workers after 9/11. She actually got emotional during the tour and welled up, causing me to start tearing up! These folks love what they do, and I can't imagine all the emotions that they were experiencing within themselves, and trying to entertain guests in a magical place when all of that was going on in the "outside world".

The other highlight of my trip was that i was in the hot seat at "Who Wants to be a Millionaire" at the Studios. I couldn't believe when I saw my seat number up on the screen. It was extremely nerve-racking to have your face plastered on those 4 huge screens and have 500 people staring down at you. The people who worked there were extremely nice to my husband and I (as I had to stick around for the next show since I didn't finish during my show). I got so nervous that i bombed on the 32,000 question. But I won a hat, a lanyard, and some pins! I was the joke of the show since the 1M prize is a trip for 2 to New York (and we are from NY).

Wow - I feel like I'm re-living our magical moments! I could probably go on forever, but I won't bore you guys. All I can say was that i waited for this trip for a very long time and we had an incredible time! If you have any questions, I'll try and do my best to answer them!:)

Thanks for the trip report!

Did you ever get to ride Test Track? I was working there when they were getting ready for the Millennium Celebration and there wwere blue walls everywhere, so we were stationed to direct people to the attractionsfrom the Fountain of Nations. It was really amazing to see all that crowd rushing to Test Track since park openning! You have to see it to believe it! :animwink:

:sohappy: :sohappy: Just returned from 7 wonderful days at Walt Disney World. I have to say....it was HOT HOT HOT!!! And boy was it crowded. We didn't wait for more than 20 min for most rides, except Rockin Roller Coaster, Space Mountain and Test Track which we fast passed those. Other than the screaming kids...and there were tons of those an enjoyable time was had by all. Whoever thought up the fast pass was a genius....thank you fast pass inventor!!!!

Maria, yes we were able to ride it (twice)..but only through the FastPasses. Even the single rider line was a bit ridiculous. But the ride was excellent!

We were there the same weekend. Test Track Fast Pass was sold out by noon each day. The stand-by line was 120 minutes. The single rider line was 20 minutes.

We single rided it. I would not wait more than 20 minutes to ride it again. It wasn't THAT spectacular. But when it's the only ride in the park that goes faster than 20 miles an hour...I can see why theres a line. Hopefully M:S will bring that line down.

We fast passed through Buzz and Pooh. Again, if I wasted an hour in line for either of those rides I'd be very disappointed.

Whats VIP seating for Fantasmic?

You can book a Fantasmic! Dinner Package (sometimes they are even doing a Fantasmic! Lunch Package) that with the purchase of a meal entitles you to a voucher for reserved section seating at that night's Fantasmic! show. (You are guaranteed a seat in a specific section in the theater, not a specific seat in that section. I believe the section is in the stage left section all the way to the right if you are in the audience and facing the stage.) The package is subject to availability and can only be booked 7 days prior at the Hollywood Junction WDW Dining Reservation station. (They may have changed this to 7 days prior on WDW property.)

Fantasmic! is subject to cancellation and if it is canceled you will not be given another voucher or compensated in any way. You are paying for your meal and not for the voucher.

For more information you can call WDW Dining.

I know MK..I was disappointed about CoP as well. I was really looking forward to riding perhaps one last time.

As far as the VIP seating at Fantasmic...the CM at the Wilderness Lodge made the reservation for us on a Tuesday for a Friday night (3 days advance). Maybe we were just lucky. But Illuminations25 is right...go into it with the idea that you are paying for the meal. We heard that the Thursday night's performance was canceled because of thunderstorms, so it doesn't guarantee that you will see the show. You also have to order an entree. Once you are finished eating, they give you a voucher and you enter Fantasmic to the left of Oscar's Service Station at the front of the park. I thought the seats were fine - we didn't want to be too far up, as the wind was carrying the water and everyone up front was getting misted!

We did get to ride the new Imagination ride ( rode on 6/1). We didn't wait any longer than 15 minutes. It's not as good as the original, but it's great to see Figment around again! I did not see any FastPass machines set up for this ride yet. Not even sure if there will be.

One other thing I forgot to mention...I remember there was a huge discusssion at one point on the addition of the three screens as you're going up the hill in Spaceship Earth. Honestly, the screens aren't what bothered me..rather, what's up with those silly looking fun noodles on the opposite side? That looks ridiculous!:hurl:
