Good morning all sorry for the very delayed trip report but things have been crazy here in the ol' labs. Anywho
4.06.2002 Trip report. Epcot, and Magic Kingdom
I went on this trip on a mission.
First stop Epcot. To show some of the fellow passholder geeks in the lab the Annual Passholder lounge above the garden grill in The Land's needless to say they all loved it, and filled out the please save the lounge cards to mail into Guest Services. Next I went to Mission:Space to score all of us some new constructions pics. ( http://forums.wdwmagic.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=7379)
After scoring those pictures it was off to The Magic Kingdom to ride COP till I ran out of battery life on the camera, and the minidv
I have to say COP's attendance was doing quiet well during my trip there. I went on COP from 12pm till about 3:30, and actually saw a huge crowd in each one of my rides until the 3:30 ride. (I have to give a special Thanks to several CM's who worked COP that day. T.J. Christan, and one CM whoms named I did not get, she was an older woman with dark glasses. Anyways ladies if you read this THANK YOU. You all made my time on the ride very enjoyable, and you never where rude, or pushy when I came onboard with my camera equipment. If anyone you have followed the boards long enough you should know my long past run in's with CM's and me filming COP I havent succed yet in getting a good copy.)
Anyways back to COP. The ride was nice, no problems at all crowds actually where quiet a few small kids crying, cell phones pagers you the know the normal stuff LOL though one man seemed to be so comfortable he feel asleep. NO LIE
I did notice one thing this time around that was not working. in the 40's scene John's mouth was not moving at all his speech came out but no mouth movement(sensor needs a fixin)
Everything else was flawless UNTIL 3:30..............Ok mind you I have been on COP all day taken upwards of almost 200 pictures, and I go to start filming (I planned on spending all day with COP), and right when I go to film another CM who just came on busts me for filming, and actually yells out right in the middle of the opening show "HEY YOU TURN THAT CAMERA OFF" Ok I can see saying Excuse me SIR not HEY YOU come on manners for god sakes. So needless to say I wasnt happy with Jr's little comment. Oh for those of you who say filming is bad. I was sitting in the back of the theater with no one around me no external lights view finder or even record light being on I turned all that off.
The show went on that same Until we entered theater #3 someone in one of the other theaters tripped off the alarm (they broke the beam running the stage) and the whole ride stopped. The animatronics voices lowered they continued to move, and you could barely make out what they where saying when a loud pre-recorded voice comes over saying "PLEASE STEP AWAY FROM THE ANIMATRONICS THE ANIMATRONICS ARE ABOUT TO START UP PLEASE STEP AWAY" I tried to get my camera back on real quick to get audio of it but was late in doing so. Plus I didnt want Jr yelling at me again over the intercom
needless to say the show was kinda ruined from there. I ended that last ride, and left. I decided I had enough pictures, and will shoot for a reshoot when COP is opened again. I left The Magic Kingdom, and went to Epcot to see the Segway exhibit, and to get some good photos for all to see (http://forums.wdwmagic.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=7377)
