Ok So here it goes.....The boyfriend and I are planning a trip to DL next year and I figured I should start a thread to start asking questions. (I like to plan early) :lookaroun

First: We are looking at going around the last week of Nov/first week of Dec how are the crowds then? Also what's the weather like at that time of year?

Just as long as you stay away from Disneyland Thanksgiving weekend you should be fine. Crowds aren't too bad the first week of December since most kids are still in school.

For weather, it can get chilly...mid 60's in the daytime, 40's in the evenings. It's definetly sweater weather time.

Are you planning on going mullet hunting in so.cal?

About 45 minutes without traffic, but it's L.A. and there's always traffic. Plan to commute over an hour.

First week in December is pretty good crowd-wise. Probably one of the quietest times of the holiday season. :)

But yes, mullets are difficult to find in SoCal.

Agreed! That's a great way to go! ;) You Definately want to make a pass by Snow White's Grotto! That's where my now-husband proposed almost 4 years ago (4 years Sept. 29th at 10:40pm - we'll be married 3 years 12/1).

:)

awwwwwwwww LOL I think that we will be there a week, spending most of the time in the Disneyland Hotel and maybe two days at the Grand Californian. I will definetly have to make a stop by the grotto :D

The Grand Californian (IMHO) is AWEFULLY romantic as well. Don't miss out on thier Jacuzzi (if you're staying there). I found that it was actually a great (and unusual) way to start our day, as well as relax in the middle as well as at the end. With jets on the floor and the walls, you'll be massaged into heaven. They are very spacious as well, so no worries about crowds. There are 2 jacuzzi's. :)

He walked me over to that spot in Snow White's Grotto (between the wishing well and the statues) right after the fireworks. We made our wishes and, instead of walking away (as we had every time in the past) and dreaming about them, he made one come true for me (complete with the get down on one knee and ring). How can ANYONE say no to that? :sohappy:

What about room discounts? WDW get them right?

PM with rates, etc. please (anyone).

With Food at DL, all you have to do is show your ID while you're ordering ("I'll take blah blah blah, oh, and I work here too"). You get 20% off of food, including counter service, with the exception of Outdoor Vending and alcohol.

Much better system than WDW, I'd say... *grumble grumble* cheap old Disney world out for every penny... *grumble grumble*

As far as hotels go, I'd recommend the Crowne Plaza Resort. We're staying there this summer and it looks incredible! I think the prices aren't bad either, and it's very close to Disneyland. What time are you guys going?
