Trip planning for April

I know this is the post Easter period this year. Anything odd for this time of the year I need to look out for. Trip will be sometime in the April 7-15 time frame. It is wrapped around an academic conference I will be attending from the 9th-13th in downtown LA (not really looking forward to that on price and driving). This will be the rare time I actually have my own vehicle so I have a lot of flexibility. Just kind of looking for a quick two day hit. Mostly wondering if there are any special events going on at DLR or other locations in the region?

Thunder Mountain is expected to be down for almost the entire year of 2013. Other than that, I can't think of anything else. Are you a D23 member? I'd check to see if there are any events occurring during your stay.
