Ok...What's the cure...??..:banghead:...Here's my problem..( not another one folk say ) Our next trip is October 2015..God willing..That's two years away..Thing is,my DS will be left school by then, and hopefully be working. So Mrs Hatter says he might not get time off his job ( that's if he's got one ) ..Now you see the dark clouds heading my way...I will need to book my resort by March of 2014 and flights by May 2014...Latest for booking would be August for both resort & flights...Deep depression is setting in...Has anybody been in a similar situation, and if so,what was your get out clause..Personally I think leaving the resort and flight booking till August..But would be interested to hear from other parents if they have had this similar problem..:arghh:..

I started a new job years ago just a few weeks before Christmas. I didn't have any vacation time yet, but my boss allowed me to take a week unpaid so I could take a family vacation. If he gets an offer for a job, he might want to mention it to his new boss, I would guess it won't be an issue.

I have switched companies a few times with vacations already planned, and have found that they are usually very accommodating, especially when you have had something planned for two years. He just needs to let them know in the interview process that he has some dates that he will need off. Usually isn't an issue.

When I began interviewing with my current company I have an 11 day vacation booked and paid for. I didnt mention it in the first round of interviews but did bring it up in my second. I asked how that would work considering vacation time at this place is accrued over time. The woman in human resources suggested that in a lot of cases managers will let their employees go into the negative. Just have your DS bring it up during the interview process. In most cases managers are pretty under understanding of trips that were booked prior to their interviewing process.

I am still quite young so haven't had that many jobs but they have always honoured any holiday already prebooked, I am joining the Police soon and although I can't take time off for the first 37 weeks I asked HR if I could have time off after 39 weeks to book WDW and despite me not yet having a posting they let me go ahead and book it, I am sure it will be fine!
